1996 Ranger 2.3L, 5 speed regular cab shortbed.  recent (less than 5K
miles)  New double platinum plugs, new spark plug wires, air cleaner,
PVC valve, oil change, oil filter.   It ran just fine after the "tune

88 F-150 gas gauges16 Aug 2005 05:30 GMT6
I have a 88 F-150 with dual tanks, 4.9 EFI. The problem is the rear tank
will show that it is full when it is, but once it gets to about half a tank,
the needle will dance from full to empty. When it gets to about  1/4 of a
tank, it falls to empty and stays there.

With my 02 Ranger 4l. I change the oil myself, buying the 5 qt. jug of
mobil1 5/30 from wal-mart for around $20 and a motocraft filter from
autozone for $3.50. Anyone use a mobil1 filter - around $10 - and any
opinions?

1996 Ranger oil pan gasket replacement15 Aug 2005 17:23 GMT6
The gasket needs replacement.  Coming out near the front crankshaft
pulley.  Leaking lots of oil.  The local repair shop says the engine
must be lifted to replace the gasket and they estimate around $1,000.
4wd, automatic.
Ford Ranger Redesign15 Aug 2005 17:10 GMT12
I just read that the redesign of the Ford Ranger is now slated for 2010.
Let's see---it was once slated for 2005, then 2008, and now it's 2010.
For those of you who haven't stopped at your local gas station for a few
days, gas is up around .15 cents a gallon. At least to me, a Ford ...

What Makes Spark plugs "eject"?15 Aug 2005 10:12 GMT7
Greetings and Salutations
So the other night (morning), I'm driving home, on the interstate, when
"Bang!" right in the middle of a lovely tuba solo, the spark plug ejects
itself from the spark plug port.  Well, actually, it wasn't till later that

Is anyone getting even the lowest stated fuel economy on the F-150? The
range for mine is given as 15-21 hwy, although new and not "broken" in yet I
think I am getting approx. 13 hwy.

Mileage question 6.0 Ltr Turbo Diesel14 Aug 2005 04:23 GMT10
I just bought a 2005 f250 crew cab 4x4 super duty.  I was told to
expect 18-24 miles to the gallon, but am averaging around 15.  Anybody
out there doing any better?  What adjustments need to be made?
