Adding a leaf spring to Ranger, how tough?30 Nov 2006 16:26 GMT7
I have a '92 Ranger that I basically use to haul mulch, dirt, gravel, and
junk. A full load of dirt makes it dangerous to drive and I would like to
add a leaf in the back to improve hauling. I'm wondering at the difficulty
and if I need any special tools. OR are there any simpler ...
Door glass replacement -- '99 F-25030 Nov 2006 00:51 GMT1
The vehicle: a 1999 F-250 XLT
I'm looking to find out how to replace the door windows in the truck.  A
very dark tint was applied years ago and it looks like the film will be
a difficult removal.  I think replacement may be the best option.
Explorer questions29 Nov 2006 14:11 GMT1
My son just got a 2002 Explorer.  He took it to the Ford dealer to have
the transmission fluid and filter changed.  They told him the filter is
buried inside the transmission and can't be changed without
disassembling the transmission, but would be glad to sell him a $120
INSTALLING A SVT SUPERCHARGER ON A 2002 SUPERCREW 5.4 .28 Nov 2006 20:02 GMT5
I was wondering how much if any trouble it would be to add a
supercharger off a lighting or a harley davidson to my stok 2002 Ford
5.4 FX4. Would this sucker just bolt on with minor adjustments or will
the computer and all that stuff have to be reprogramed in order for it

Shocks: any gotchas?28 Nov 2006 15:44 GMT27
I am prioritizing the repairs needed by my "new" 1996 F150 (75k miles).
The brakes and radial arm bushings are probably next.  Those are _not_
on my DIY list.
A relatively large dollar item on the estimate is shocks, and (please
97 Ranger Airbag Problem28 Nov 2006 03:24 GMT4
I have a '97 Ranger (2.3L / 2WD) and the airbag light comes on
intermittently.  I recently replaced the turn signal/wiper switch module
because the left turn signal would only work intermittently, and I hoped
that I might just find a loose wire causing the air bag issue when I hade

Update seats on 88 F-150?27 Nov 2006 18:21 GMT1
I am having fits with my old 88 F-150.  Was thinking about hitting the
salvage yard for something updated.  Anyone know what years to or not to
look at?  I know JCW has them, but $1300 is kinda crazy for an old
beater like mine...

Growling F25027 Nov 2006 00:00 GMT4
I *thought* I heard a slight growl when starting from a stop in my f250, and
it went away when it shifted to 2nd (E04).
HOwever, when I hooked up my heavy Travel trailer and used the weight
transfer bars, it was very noticeable. It may be that it didn't quit after
2004 F-150 transfer case questions...26 Nov 2006 23:01 GMT4
Hi all.  A coworker of mine drives a 2004 F-150 4x4.  This weekend, he
was able to go in reverse but the whole drivetrain locked up when it
was put in drive--no forward motion at all.  The dealer is claiming
that both the transmission and transfer case are shot, and saying it'll
E4OD Low/Rev Failures26 Nov 2006 03:55 GMT8
Sorry for the re-post.  I am new here and forgot to get E4OD in the subject
I work for a rebuilder.  Lately we have seen a lot of failed Low/Rev clutches,
burned and slipping.  A number of teardowns indicates it is not due to bad or
wrong parts, or builder error.  I have not found ...
