What is Hot?24 Jul 2007 16:34 GMT5
I am going to ask an open ended question.
Assuming you are starting with a stock 1960 Ford F100 what is the
"hotest engine" you can stick in this truck?
Assume stock engine and no major body or chassis changes.

I'm looking for the rear side marker lights from a 71 F100 Custom sport,
anyone have some kicking around?
Anyone familiar with KARR security systems?22 Jul 2007 18:54 GMT1
In trying to find a solution to a dome light problem, I ran across a
black box under the dash stamped only with KARR on it.  This box is
connected to a small black box with a led light on it and is located on
the kick panel under the steering wheel.  Any ways, I unplugged three ...

I an thinking about replacing the fan and fan clutch assemble on my
1983 F-250 6.9 diesel with an electric fan.
Looking for details from someone who has done this to a 6.9 or 7.3

New Engine or Sell Truck?22 Jul 2007 03:26 GMT12
I have a 1996 F250 with 225,000 miles. Still runs smooth as silk,
idles fine w/out problems. The only issue is power/gas consumption. I
recently took it on a 400 mile trip, all hiway (hilly, though) and
averaged only 10.5 mpg. It also seemed to not take the hills like it
Nut size on exhaust pipe to exhaust manifold bolts21 Jul 2007 22:47 GMT11
I'm in the middle of changing my clutch out on my 2002 F150 4.2L V6
truck. Before I can remove the transmission, I have to disconnect the
exhaust pipes from the exhaust manifolds. The nuts have been sprayed
with Liquid Wrench and should be ready to come off. I know this sounds
F 150 5.4L 4X4  SuperCrew XLT  6.5 ft box21 Jul 2007 20:09 GMT14
Just got the call today, my new factory ordered F-150 is at the dealer..will
pickup the pickup tomorrow.  Fortunately, they're putting a full tank of gas
in it so I can afford to drive it for a couple of weeks  ;-)
Having a problem with my 92 F150 oil pan gasket20 Jul 2007 13:04 GMT3
I changed the gasket myself and it started leaking after a week. I
payed a mechanic to do it again and it lasted a few months. Now its
leaking again and I noticed it looks like the gasket is pushed out in
some areas? I have never seen a gasket push out like this before. The

Where would be a good place to find OME technical information?
I was looking at a post the other day that regarded swapping an OME air
filter for a larger L&H after market unit.  The correspondent noted that the
L&H would deliver more Air than the SuperDuty could use without other ...
300 I-6 still having oil/rod issues18 Jul 2007 01:05 GMT4
Question: do 300ci sixes ever have issues with cracked or loose oil
pickups?  I am seeing some symptoms that lead me to believe that I might
be dealing with something like that.  I should probably hook up a good
mechanical oil pressure gauge to verify this but here's the Cliff's ...
89 clutch16 Jul 2007 15:41 GMT5
Replacing the clutch on an 89 F150 6cyl. I've got all the bellhousing bolts
out, starter, driveshafts etc. Trans doesn't want to seperate from engine.
Before I break something, am I missing something? Got jacks under motor and
trans and rocked everything side to side and up and ...
4.2 V6 (pushrod) v. 4.6 V8 (OHC?)16 Jul 2007 03:33 GMT6
Looking into getting a !basic! new F150, sort of a "super Ranger", and
am trying to decide whether the 4.6 V8 (OHC?) v. [4.2 V6 (pushrod)] is
worth the cost: ~$650. Plan to get the manual 5. And no, I don't
foresee pulling and carrying vast weights.
1987 f150 transmission oil mix with motor oil??16 Jul 2007 02:47 GMT12
Here is a weird one.  I went to change the oil on my 4.9 6cylinder with
automatic transmission f150.  I had about 10 quarts of oil in it??  My
transmission fluid was down about 2 quarts?  What on earth is going on?
Can my transmission fluid even go into my engine oil?? Thanks:)
2007 F-150 5-Speed  Manual Transmission?16 Jul 2007 02:05 GMT1
Thinking of buying a 2007 F-150 with the 5-speed manual transmission.
I will not be doing any towing just thought it would be better in mud
and occasional snow.
Are there any problems with the 5-speed?
How do I remove my alternator?15 Jul 2007 23:49 GMT14
'93 F-150, 300 I-6, I have removed the two bolts that appear to retain
the alternator, how do I actually remove it?  I can't really see (it's
one of those things where I guess once you see it apart you know what
you have to do) but it appears that there might be a long sleeve ...
