Front Bumper Spare Mount14 Aug 2007 00:56 GMT3
1987 F-150 5.8L C6.
Anyone know of an aftermarket front-end spare tire mount? I was half-
expecting to find one at J.C. Whitney. If these aren't generally made,
what's the reason? Any issue with airflow to the radiator?
2007 F-150, SInking Brake Pedal13 Aug 2007 20:34 GMT7
Anyone experience this?
While holding my foot on the brake at a red light, after a few seconds, the
pedal will actually drop about another inch or so. The dealer says it's
normal but I think something is wrong.
4.6L V8 in a '97 F15013 Aug 2007 20:02 GMT3
I'm in the market for a truck, and I'm giving strong consideration to a '97
F150 with 95k miles. I own a Bronco with a 5.8L, and I like it alot, but it
can not haul the stuff I need to carry.
I will be using the truck for construction work, it has a camper shell
Why the thinner frame steel?13 Aug 2007 15:34 GMT6
I was looking at used full sized trucks (F150, Chev 1500). Something with a
8 foot bed. I was surprized that they use the same ~1/8" thick steel U
channel frame that is used in the S10/Ranger. I was expecting something
beefier in a full size. Why do this?
96 Ranger Engine Noise11 Aug 2007 17:44 GMT2
I have a 96 Ranger with ~150k miles. I know that one of the cyclinders
is losing pressure, but I don't think that really explains the sound.
When I am moving over 30 mph and give it  more than half throttle in
any gear(has the Mazda 5 speed), it starts making a sound like a turbo

Whistle Noise from 6.0L Diesel F35007 Aug 2007 22:10 GMT11
When towing a heavy load, 13,000 pounds, up a long hill, I sometimes get a
whistling sound coming from the engine at the same time the auxillary fan/pump
comes on.  It doesn't occur all the time, but more often on the more severe
hills.  Today it happened on the Lewiston, ID, hill; ...
Re-route V-Belts07 Aug 2007 20:24 GMT7
I've converted a 1987 4x2 5.8L F-150 to manual steering (long story).
I can't think of a way to re-route the v-belt that used to connect to
the PS pump. Currently the belt goes from the crank to the water pump
then off to the PS pump. The PS pump pully is where the tension is
