got a '93 F-150.  Am considering doing the following:
- replacing the current under-the-rail bed liner with a rubber mat and
tailgate mat.  I don't like bedliners, and I'm thinking that a mat would
provide better resistance to cargo slipping all around.

I took the beast in for its i-annual service and reported to the service
guy that I was concerned with the performance on startup.  It suddenly
takes longer to start than before - it used to take maybe half a
rotation of the crankshaft and now it takes maybe 3-5 seconds of

I have a '91 Explorer and it's due for a smog test.  They now have included
a vapor recovery system test.  Can anyone tell me what the test is comprised
of?  Or how I can determine beforehand if it will probably pass?  I heard
they pressurize the fuel system but I don't know at what ...

I think the bearing is going.  It is squeaking but when I oil it, the
squeaking stops.  Should I replace it?  Any problem changing these
things out?
