2001 Ford Escape Other than putting on huge tires, is there a way to change speedometer gears or reprogram something in order to have a speedometer test read slower than actual speed?

I know this has been addressed before but it is a recurring problem with many Ford vehicles. I have just cleaned the MAF on my '99 Windstar with the 3.8 V-6 for the second time and it has again solved engine knocking and improved performance.

I have a '90 taurus that will over heat.When you open the radiator cap lever ,it overflows then starts cooling again.the water dosent look like its flowing till i trip the lever,then that gets it going.Also air bubbles present.

The car - 1977 Thunderbird, 302, 2bbl The problem- A no-start condition on a hot engine, after it has sit for 10-15 minutes. I have to let it sit for up to an hour to get it going again. There's no spark until its ready to run.

I'm looking at purchasing a 92-94 Ranger. I'm considering the 2.3L 4Cyl or the 3.0L V6. First off, is the transmission the same for both engines? And lastly, are these auto trannys in the ranger, the same ones they use in the early aerostar's with the v6 3.0L?

I've got a 2000 Escort zx-2 with almost 60k miles. At high rpm's the battery light will come on but as soon as it drops below 5000 rpm it will go back off. Does this sound indicative of a bad alternator and is 60k miles an average life span or should I look for a problem elsewhere ...
