| Third Taurus or not? | 30 Apr 2004 03:13 GMT | 11 |
I've had two Tauri over the years. Each ran fine with only minor repairs on the first and some semi major on the second due to an accident. The first, 1988, was replaced at about 120,000 miles. The second, 1995, has 125,000. I'm considering a 2003 or 2004. Are the

| Thrumming sound from 89 Sable rear wheels | 29 Apr 2004 19:52 GMT | 4 |
I am having trouble isolating the source of a low-pitched "thrumming" sound coming from the rear wheels of my 1989 Sable. The frequency of the sound is proportional to wheel rotation speed. Because one of the rear wheels was out of alignment, I replaced the tire on that wheel,

| Big Car Question.. | 29 Apr 2004 15:51 GMT | 1 |
There is no Lincoln news group so I'll post here, was the Lincoln Town Car of the mid to late 90s the largest passenger car made? I think it was, since the Cadillac models got smaller in the early 90s - so that left the town car. I'm not including suv's, just cars here. Thanks for

I have a 1990 Ford Taurus L (3.0L V6). Recently it just stalls. It doesn't matter where I am or what the temp. it dies when I am at a complete stop and hit the gas to accelerate. I am almost certain it isn't the fuel pump. I read an article about a guy who had a 1989 with the ...

| Ford Escort cambelt | 29 Apr 2004 10:15 GMT | 2 |
Anyone know how to figure out what type of cambelt my 1996 Escort LX 16V 1.6 has just from looking at the engine? The user guide's not particularly specific on my model. I assume that it's a Zetec engine as no other sort of 1.6 engine is referred to.

| ford coil packs | 29 Apr 2004 08:02 GMT | 3 |
the local ford dealer just told me that my #3 cylinder misfire issue is related to the coil pack. There are 8 of them instead of the normal wires that attach to the spark plugs. The cost to replace the one bad one is $250. My mileage is low but my warranty ended 2 months ago ...

| Mobil 1 or Valvoline Synthetic | 29 Apr 2004 06:50 GMT | 29 |
I just bought a 1995 Ford Mustang GT with a 5.0L engine at 109,000 miles. The recommended oil weight to use is 10w30. Is Mobil 1 or Valvoline Synthetic the best? Synthetic is obviously better than conventional. For me, it's just a question of whether to use Mobil 1 or

I have a 96 ford ranger, 4.0, 4x4. I was told by a break shop that my ball joints are shot. I got a quote over the phone from a shop I trust and I was quoted $800 for all four. I was wondering, how do you know if the ball joints are shot? The only problem with the vehicle
