While replacing the fuel pump and strainer on my mother's 1994 Escort
LX Wagon I found a part on the assembly that I don't quite understand.
Between the pump outlet and the metal fuel line that exits the tank is
a nylon chamber with a metal dome cap. What is this strange part and

transmission hot I have a 1 to 2 shift problem.  At low partial throttle (as

I have a 1994 Ford Escort 1.8 TD and have just replaced the hand primer
which was faulty, however i am now having problems starting the car and it
is very chuggy when it does start i think it may either have air trapped in
it or it is getting air in from somewhere.

I bought a brand new Drivers Side Power Window Motor for my 1994 Ford
Crown Victoria from the dealer.  Turned out the motor in my car was
perfectly fine and I had to replace the control panel switch in the

I had a bad cell in the car battery.  It is a 1984 Ford LTD with a 232 3.8L
V-6 engine with TBI.  Replaced the battery.  Light stayed on.  Replaced the

last night I tried to change the fuel filter on my 95 Ford Ranger.
Go the one line removed (towards the tank), but was unable to remove the
  connection on the front of the fuel filter. What is the trick to do that?
Per Chilton's manual this connector type is called "duckbill" ...

does anyone know how to test my iat sensor. I checked it with an
ohmmeter at room temp and it read about 20000. I also checked another
one at the auto parts store and it checked the same. the book i have
says it should check 2500 @ 68F.
