| Hard starting and stalling on 93 Taurus | 22 Oct 2004 02:36 GMT | 2 |
My car has been starting fine and my battery is good. However, yesterday after about 4 hours of hard rain, the car was difficult to start. (Also, I should mention that my car was parked on a fairly substantial slope in the driveway--the front being higher than the back.) When ...

| To Ford or not to Ford | 22 Oct 2004 01:54 GMT | 12 |
I've been searching for a new car, actually an SUV. I'm debating on a Ford Escape, but since I have certain needs to be met I am hoping someone can help me. I'm in charge of contractors in a large home improvement retailer. I need a vechicle which is not only dependable, but can ...

| Advice on a Ford Tempo '89 problem | 22 Oct 2004 00:41 GMT | 7 |
Hello to everyone on this group, My sister owns a '89 Ford Tempo with really low mileage (like 90 000km or 56 000m). The car is really clean, almost no rust except in 2 very little spots, the interior is great, etc. The car was owned by an old person who

| TIP: Easy Alternator refurbish | 21 Oct 2004 07:03 GMT | 1 |
If your mid-90's Ford has run up it's mileage to about 100 - 150 kmiles or so, you might want to undertake a quick Saturday project that will probably save you big bucks -and inconvenience- in the near future. Check out the back of the alternator to see if the voltage regulator ...

| Heat problem | 21 Oct 2004 03:54 GMT | 4 |
My 94 Sable does not have heat at all. I tested the temperature control, which is a poteciometer, and it's working OK; I measured its resistance and it changes smoothly. The AC works fine, but it cools even when I turn the temperature control to hot. A few months ago the radio ...

| 95 efi 351 whines at startup | 20 Oct 2004 22:54 GMT | 3 |
This is a California truck. The whine sometimes continues for about 15-45 mins. Mostly during cold weather. I've listened with an open hood, and it seems to be near the "smog pump." Very hard to tell the location. Any help?

| Lincoln 97 Towncar 4.6 L with OBDII code 420 & 430 | 20 Oct 2004 21:39 GMT | 1 |
I am getting OBDII error codes 420 & 430. Any idea what would cause both codes to appear and the same time?

| 171/174 Codes 99 Windstar | 20 Oct 2004 19:00 GMT | 8 |
I have heard of and read the infamous TSB 3-16-1 for the above mentioned codes. How can my mechanic go about diagnosising whether or not the service proceedure described in the TSB is necessary. I don't want to go on an 'odds are' diagnosis.

| 2000 Taurus cd player | 20 Oct 2004 14:56 GMT | 2 |
I bought a 2000 Taurus and it has the cd controls in radio/climate control dashplate. I'd like to install a cd player but can't decide which way to go; either a used trunk changer or a Scosche radio/climate control dash panel change-out kit so I can install a radio/player up

| 97 Taurus sloppy ignition key | 20 Oct 2004 06:51 GMT | 2 |
I've noticed recently that the entire ignition key and cylinder is "out" of the steering column by about 1/4" (i can push it back, but it comes back out again), and seems to be pretty loose, with a fair amount of wobble and play when moving the key into different positions.

| Stabilizer Link/Taurus | 20 Oct 2004 01:56 GMT | 1 |
If anyone knows their way around the suspension for a 93 Taurus, I am looking for some opinions, or ideas. The front stabilizer link/bar is clunking pretty good. I noticed that the rubber boots were shot on the link, so I replaced it, and the noise was gone.

| Motorcraft Battery | 19 Oct 2004 23:18 GMT | 5 |
My 1997 Ford TB 4.6 battery just took a dump. No complaints as it was original equipment. The battery was maintenance free, which means to me water cannot be added. Just called the local Ford dealer for a replacement. I told the parts guy I wanted exactly the same battery ...

| 97 Escort - EEC IV diagnostic connectors | 19 Oct 2004 22:39 GMT | 4 |
I can't find the EEC IV diagnostic connectors that the manuals say should be somewhere under the hood of our 97 Escort wagon. Where should I be looking? Is it relevant that this is a Canadian-spec model?
