| Crappy FORD factory manuals | 06 Nov 2004 19:05 GMT | 6 |
Who does Ford get to write their shop manuals? It's bad enough that they are all but incomprehensible, even to a mechanic - without being totally inacurate in many ways to boot. Case in point. Just got a 1996 Merc Mystique for the wife - fully

| ID Taurus transaxel? | 06 Nov 2004 17:59 GMT | 10 |
Have a 99 Taurus. Evidently Ford uses 2 transaxel types on this car, AX4N or AX4S for the 3.0 engines. The type transaxel is supposed to be on a tag over the bell housing but on mine it has decomposed in engine oil. My book says the TransAx ID is also on the "Main valve cover ...

I don't know if this is a problem or not, here is my question : On my Mondeo, the gazol measure (into the "cockpit") shows the gazol level even if the engine is stopped and keys out... I have unplugged the battery, and the measure still doesn't go to "0"

| Ever buy tires from Pep Boys? | 05 Nov 2004 06:48 GMT | 4 |
I had a horrible experience buying tires from Pep Boys. They are liars and cheaters. I purchased four tires at $50 each and the salesman proceeds to tell me the total will be close to $400! Obviously, I was flabbergasted and asked why so high. Then he breaks down the price, quickly ...
