i was driving down the AC expressway about 70 mph

Tran recently started slipping(?) when coming up to speed. Happens most
often when resuming speed with speed control. It starts to accelerate, then
hesitates, then "thunks" into gear and runs OK. Also will "thunk" when
getting up to speed from getting up to speed from a stop. Car ...

Can someone point me in the right direction to find info on how to pull the
trouble codes from the computer of a 1991 Merc. Topaz without purchasing a
special reader/scanner?

I have an 83, V8 5.0 Thunderbird with 140,000 miles.
If I have my car sitting around for 1-3 hours and try and start it,
occasionally it will not start.
However when it starts, in park the engine will run fine for around 5

Question is, if I coat my sticking e-brake cables (wound in a metal cover,
not plastic) can I free them from sticking?  Anyone ever try this?
