| 1938 Pickup | 16 Jan 2005 21:46 GMT | 3 |
I've run across a '38 pickup for sale which a friend, who knows a little about the truck, says has a '48 engine (I haven't had the opportunity to look under the hood). In any event, before I become too serious about this truck, are body/interior parts hard to find? Have a lot of ...

My wifes 98 mystique has a slight jerk when the transmission changes gears. Sometimes it's very jerky and sometimes it's smooth. The car has 79000 miles on it. Do we just need a transmission flush or could it be the start of someting more expensive? Also, what kind of ballpark ...

| Noisy Tires or ? | 16 Jan 2005 14:35 GMT | 2 |
I put Dunlop Rovers on my 2001 Escape at 40K. Seemed quiter at first but now, 10K later, I hear a lot of "whiring," especially at 30 and 50 mph. Hard to describe but very faintly like a playing card stuck between the spokes of a bicycle. The noise doesn't seem to come from ...

| 1988 Grand Marquis: Driveshaft Fell out | 16 Jan 2005 11:55 GMT | 5 |
Today, our 1988 Mercury Grand Marquis' driveshaft--the part that goes from the engine to the rear wheels to drive them--fell out. How complicated is such a repair usually? Is it the death of the car commonly? LRH

| 12 Volt Ceramic Heater | 16 Jan 2005 10:42 GMT | 20 |
I have a '93 Aerostar 3.0 and my heater is broken. I live in Florida so it's not a huge deal. I figured I'd try one of those 12 volt ceramic heaters. I figured the more watts a model is rated at, the more heat it would put out. I found a RoadPro model that's 300 watts! So what is ...

| 97 Taurus 3.0 Vulcan Serpentine Belt Replacement Nightmare | 16 Jan 2005 10:37 GMT | 10 |
My 97 Taurus 3.0 Vulcan's serpentine belt decided to start giving up the ghost, which I noted on an early Christmas Eve look under the hood prior to a trip to NY for Christmas. For some reason (its only a year old replacement belt) the back (smooth) side of the belt is starting to

| How do u disable A/C in Taurus?? | 16 Jan 2005 10:32 GMT | 10 |
I have a 1996 Taurus 3.0l Vulcan engine, and I want to disable the A/C for the winter months, so I can enjoy more cabin heat. I found out that when you select the defrost, defrost/floor, floor, or vents/floor setting, the heat output is lessened because the blowing air is mixed ...

| '97 Taurus OD quit | 16 Jan 2005 10:24 GMT | 5 |
I just noticed that the OD in my 18 yr old daughter's 97 Taurus AX4N quit working. I asked her how long it was cruising at 3000 rpm @ 60 mph she just gave me a dumb look. However, I wonder if her latest problem may be related. Her car wouldn't start last night so she copped a ...

I have an 89 Aerostar with 125K on it. I recently put those new Plus 4 4 prong Bosch plugs in, because they were "the best" and any of you that have ever tuned this thing up, know how hard the plugs are to get at... (yeah, I did get them all, and not skip #5)

Anyone have any good or bad stories to share about the AWD Ford Aerostars? I'm looking tor AWD for the New England winters that we have, and I have had pretty good luck with my 2wd '89... One thing that bothers me about Ford, is that your can't even get dealer
