My 1994 (m) 2.0 mondeo gearbox only works for first minute then seem like its sliping. If I leave the engine running I cant get gears. I have to stop the car leave it for a minute and then I have gears again for a minute.

when i turn the key to the on position and wait approx. 5 seconds the starter will engage, and will engage again after the engine is running, also i have lights on the dash board blinking telling me that i am in 4x4 low, air bags off.

I have a 93 Taurus 3.8 wagon, 132k miles with an itermittant starting problem. It always cranks, but maybe one time in ten it fails to start. After a fail to start, It always starts if I leave it for a few hours, or overnight.
