I am having problems with my power steering. The steering wheel wa

Is it worth fixing and how to do it13 Jun 2005 01:38 GMT7
My son was driving our 96 Tuarus station wagon  w V6 on a
long-distance trip. Apparently, the serpentine belt broke and he kept
driving the car (Duh!). (He said the temp gauge never registered hot.)
The check engine light eventually came on and the car sputtered to a

Taurus break job12 Jun 2005 17:34 GMT16
I'm doing my first break job on my own later this week on a '93 Taurus.
(Not to fear, I'm having a professional look over it afterward.)
Here's what I'm thinking I'll need for supplies and tools coming in.
Does anyone else have any suggestions? TIA.
Leaking fuel line??12 Jun 2005 14:10 GMT5
Recently I've noticed a miss developing on my 93 Explorer XLT.  First it
started out as a small engine miss that didn't seem to zap the engine of
torque or power.  I could still drive up hill no problem with full power,
albeit having to hit the accelerator a bit more to do so.  ...

Check Engine Light12 Jun 2005 06:20 GMT3
This should be an easy one.  But cars remain a tricky subject for
many of us.  Recently the check engine light came on.  But it went off.
During one trip home the light came on and off twice.
What are the most important things to look for?  Yes, I should know

I have a 91 mercury sable. When I run the engine for a few minutes, it
starts to rev up all by itself and then it stalls. If I turn on the AC it
dies immediately. Does anyone know what it could be?

Putting a CD player in an Escort ZX211 Jun 2005 22:53 GMT4
I hope someone has had experience with that. I just got an used Ford
Escort ZX2, model 1999, which came only with a tape, but no CD player.
Since the number of tapes I have in my possession is 0, I was wondering if
it would be possible (and worth it) to have the tape device replaced ...
Rear Speaker Removal - Crown Vic11 Jun 2005 21:18 GMT7
I was wondering if anyone has experience removing the rear deck speakers on
a 2003 Crown Victoria? The speaker grill seems to be attached to the carpet
covering the back deck. It seems I need to find proper method to fold down
rear deck covering to access speakers. Any ideas?
Ford 500 test drive11 Jun 2005 20:05 GMT10
I test drove a 500 Saturday.  Nice car and with the 6 speed I thought
acceleration was adequate but that was up until I was at 65 mph and pressed
the gas pedal and there was nothing.  I know you don't often need to exceed
65 mph, but nothing?  I mean nothing.
