Recently purchased a 1988 Ford Ranger that has a bad cat coverter...have been told that to remove it or bypass it would harm the engine. Does anyone know if that is true? Is it possible to run a straight exhaust on this truck?

My wife's 1997 Ford Escort, 2.0L hesitates (almost wants to stall) when coming to a stop. Other than that the car is OK. About 80,000 miles on it. Any ideas would be helpful.

My outside temp started going from actual to below zero. Its reading below zero most of the time now. I live in Houston so that's not quite accurate. Where is the sensor located? I suspect corrosion on the connector but don't know where to look for it -- w0gvd

Hi i have a 2001 ford focus zx3 with the 2-litre zetec engine. The engine has a bad surge in it when at constant road speed or when accellerating. This surge can be made much better by plugging the vacum line going to the egr. The car has been checked for vacum leaks.
