Summer Heat24 Jul 2005 03:42 GMT3
I have a 1998 Ford Escort SE, 2.0l 4cyl.  It has served me well for more
than six years. However, here in Las Vegas, we are experiencing intense
heat and it seems to have affected my car.
Early one morning, I drove the car with absolutely no problems.  At
Plastic Intake Manifold Failure - 1996 Crown Vic23 Jul 2005 19:36 GMT2
Just paid over $1,000 on repair because the Plastic intake manifold cracked
and let coolant into the intakes. Several states have presumably filed class
action suits against Ford and are getting reimbursed for the cost of the
replacement.
Inertia switch shut off engine whilst trying to escape from car hijack - got shot, now paralyzed23 Jul 2005 18:45 GMT14
I am after some kind of report or any pointers to use in a lawsuit
against Ford. Basically, whilst being car hijacked and in an attempt to
escape, the Ford Focus bumped the curb and the inertia switched killed
the engine and that led the perpetrators to calmly walk up to the
99 ford escort.  A/C problem23 Jul 2005 18:44 GMT3
My ac went out on my 99 ford escort.  I tried recharging it but it only
takes about a quarter of the can then stops.  Im not sure what might cause
that.  Is it a clogged or pinched line?  Does anyone know what I can do?

98 Grand Marquis surges (misses) at high speeds23 Jul 2005 03:04 GMT3
My 98 Grand Marquis is surging at highway speeds. Seems as though this
is a common problem with this car. My brpother has 99 CV and he had to
replace spark plug coils. Could there be anything else causing this?
By the way, my brother's 99 CV needs a new ignition switch because his
Yet Another Reason Why Their Cars Are Better23 Jul 2005 02:32 GMT1
Yes, I know Ford owns Volvo-- but they STILL make them over there--
where ENGINEERS call the shots, not accountants - like in Detroit.
STOCKHOLM (Reuters) - Carmaker Volvo has asked for special exemption
from Sweden's tough drink-driving laws so its test drivers can have a
A4LD Trans problem, need help please!23 Jul 2005 01:37 GMT8
89 Aerostar; blown seal after shifting problems noted, then slippage then
blown front seal.
the trans had seemed to 'hunt' while in cruise, prior to event.. feel
shifting sensation with change in engine rpm.
IDLE LOPING23 Jul 2005 00:40 GMT1
What would cause the batt. light to come on AND the car car to
"lope" when idling on a 1989 grand marquis? It goes from 600 rpm to
1000 rpm when idling in two seconds, continuously. Is this the voltage
regulator?  :?
1994 Eddie Bauer Bronco - Extreme Heat22 Jul 2005 22:54 GMT4
I'm the original owner of a '94 Bronco, 351 cid with 125,000 miles. It
has a new cooling system - radiator, water pump, hoses, etc.  (no
leaks of water, oil or other fluids)
During the extreme heat ( 110 - 117 degrees in Las Vegas) the truck
83 Lincon Towncar - Major Problems22 Jul 2005 17:50 GMT16
My car has not run right since I changed the termostat. I can't figure out
what happened. There is a gas smell in the oil now and it over loading on
gas and wont run. I can't believe changing the thermostat blew the car up.
Aerostar - Harsh ride22 Jul 2005 17:45 GMT2
My '93 Aerostar rides real rough. I replaced the shocks and it's a little
better, but not much. Taking the 2 bench seats out probably didn't help
much. What's the deal, did Ford just put really stiff springs in those vans?
Is there anything I can do about it?

overheated while running at idle22 Jul 2005 17:05 GMT6
My car seems to run more difficult at idle when just started. The ecu tries
to rev up irregularly and sometimes the rpm gets really low for a while.
When driving, fuel consumption has gone up when accelerating - which is not
as vivid as before - and even at cruise is slightly higher ...
Am I being way overcharged because I'm a young woman?22 Jul 2005 16:14 GMT15
Hi :)  I hope you all can help me, I'm a 23 year old mother of three, and I
took my car to get aligned and they told me they couldn't due to these
factors
