Red Chipped Keys - UK08 Dec 2005 16:23 GMT1
I've just bought a 1999 Fiesta which only has one key and no key number.
I've been told that I need to go to a Ford main dealer to get a new key cut
and chipped.  Anyone have info on getting a second key at a sensible price
in the UK?
Is this for me to do?08 Dec 2005 15:59 GMT9
I am, shall we say, mechanically challenged. I do okay as a Saturday
afternoon mechanic in that I can do my own tune ups, oil changes and
similar things. Now I have to change an inner tie rod end on an 1985
Tempo with power steering.
2002 Taurus dies on me08 Dec 2005 03:08 GMT2
My 2002 Taurus SE (34,000) dies on me. I am the original owner.  No
problems before this.   Actually it conks our just when I start to
accelerate, after driving for 3 to 4 miles.  It restarts when I turn
the key off (won't start if I don't turn the key off, then on again),

A few`days back my car stalled when I shifted it from P to D after I

I'm looking for stories of consumers who have been ripped off by
incompetent or deceptive mechanics. If you'd like to share your story,

Mondeo 1.8 TD 98 CV joint ???07 Dec 2005 21:05 GMT2
Left hand down, full lock there's a repeating "GONK" sound.
When going straight no sound unless over uneven surface.
Only a slight turn to the right and the sound appears again but no where
near as noisily as on the full left lock.

~94 Town Cars, did most have air suspension?07 Dec 2005 04:31 GMT1
I have heard that most of them did not have the
air suspension when new.
I thought most of them had that.
Roughly, what is the percentage?
PING WARMAN07 Dec 2005 03:33 GMT4
Jim,
Sorry to bother you so much recently, but I'm having the worst run of luck.
In a nutshell...
Tonite, just for the heck of it, I locked the front hubs on my 1980 Bronco for the drive home, and just a few blocks from my house shifted it into 4 HIGH. The roads are covered in snow ...
"Cold-blooded" 95 Taurus  3.0?06 Dec 2005 15:46 GMT5

not much.  And exposed to wind. Makes no diff which direction she parks
Cooling fluid in oil - T-bird 5.006 Dec 2005 02:07 GMT5
The reason of this might be cooling fluid which had to much water and might
be frozen.
Result is that car was unstable on low rpm, than it was hard to start, I've
checked an oil and there was light-brown fluid like a glue (very high
Is the Crown Vic Discontinued?06 Dec 2005 02:05 GMT13
My dad was told by a salesman at a Ford dealer that the Crown Vic has been
discontinued.  I discounted that, until I had to be at a Ford dealer for
service on my van last week.  I didn't see a single new CV.  The Five
Hundred is, according to the sticker in the window, a "large" ...
