| Cold weather stalling | 16 Dec 2005 10:00 GMT | 8 |
My motorcraft 4300 carb works fine on my 1971 T-B 429 in warm weather. When cold weather set in, it still works fine after a complete warm up. Trying to move the car before a ten minute warm up results in the engine stalling and sputtering. By pumping the gas vigorously, the car ...

| 1995 Contour GL (4-banger) heater troubles & overheating. | 16 Dec 2005 02:55 GMT | 1 |
No heat (sometimes a *little* warm). Prestone smell in the car when heater is on. Car has a tendancy to overheat (slow & intermittent rad fan). It gobbles up about 1 gallon of coolant per week (seems to be vaporising through the heater core, since I'm not seeing any leaks ...

| Oil pressure in 99 Contour | 16 Dec 2005 00:58 GMT | 1 |
I have a 99 Contour (4 cyl) and recently (last couple days) started losing oil pressure when making sharp right turns or sometimes braking hard. I recently took a new job where I drive a ton of miles and (stupidly) got way behind on my oil change; I went to check the oil level and ...

| 2004 focus amp fitting | 15 Dec 2005 20:35 GMT | 4 |
Hi all, I'm going to put an amp into my 2004 5dr focus but I'm a bit of a lazy bastard so I was thinking about running the power feed for the amp from the 12v outlet for the rear passengers (which has never been used and probably never will) instead of running a power cable from ...

| Why different spark plugs- 99 Taurus? | 15 Dec 2005 13:24 GMT | 5 |
The owners manual for my 99 Taurus <engine code u> says cylinders 1,2,3 use plugs with suffix "PG" but cylinders 4,5,6 have plugs suffix "P". CAN ANYONE EXPLAIN? The guide for Autolite plugs says Double platinum plugs APP&^$ are used in this engine. Will I be OK with those?

| alternate ideas | 15 Dec 2005 07:44 GMT | 9 |
I have an '86 T-bird (only 63K miles). Had a wild idea and wondered if anyone has tried it. Has anyone ever tried to use motor oil (new or old) in the cooling system instead of water + antifreeze ? Here's the logic, oil inherently would be non-corrosive to the pump, radiator, and ...
