$5 gallon gas wont't stop worlds most thirsty SUV21 May 2006 05:27 GMT51
Our Leader will not hangar and throw away the key to his Boeing 747, the
worlds most fuel thirsty personal SUV.  Think about that next time you
think its your duty to break our "addiction to oil."  Mr. Bush is
ever-ready to remind us of our "duty," usually before he flies off in Air

This is one of the strangest things I have ever seen. 98 Windstar, 78K,
running almost perfectly otherwise and no codes were found by AutoZone when I
had them scan it.
Every 20-30 seconds the gas cap makes a loud noise that closely resembles a

I have noticed lately when I come to a stop and let it idle, it idles very
high.  I also have a problem when I am going about 30+ mph.  I accelerate
up to speed, let off the pedal and start coasting.  Then when I push on
the pedal again to accelerate more, my check engine light ...

First Car Question: '89 Gr Marquis19 May 2006 21:02 GMT3
I have a question about a potential first car:
Is a 1989 Mercury Grand Marquis a good choice of first car?
This is coming from a teenager with extensive automotive knowledge and
experience, notably repair but not actual diagnosis of problems.
What size trailer can I pull?19 May 2006 13:03 GMT3
I have a 2002 Windstar and I just installed a 3500lb capacity hitch.  I was
wondering what size trailer can this van pull?  Utility trailer, that is.
I'm hoping to at least pull a yard of dirt which I believe is about 2700lbs.
Can it pull more weight?

Had a problem a while back and wanted to say thank you for the suggestions.
It turned out to be the IACV...engine is running smooth now. Alldata told me P1507 and
pointed me there but I thought the original mechanic had changed it...found out he had
only cleaned it. Anyway thanks ...

Aerostar Power Steering Pumps Whine18 May 2006 14:21 GMT20
I'm on my 2nd Aerostar.  Fabulous vans -  will be sad when the 97 dies....
But I notice that, in every stinking one I have seen or talked to the owner,
the power steering pumps whine.  The lovely wife can hear mine a block away.
Wonder why they didn't take the time to fix that in 10 ...
