Mondeo sterring08 Jun 2006 22:42 GMT1
My wife's Ford Mondeo has started to loose oil which seems to be
coming from where the radiator is, also she is losing steering fluid, so I
assume there is an oil cooler in this area, am I right? and are they
expensive? , also she says that the steering has become shakey ...
Oil: it's all the same08 Jun 2006 22:39 GMT15
Yes this a ten year old article, however is a real world test of four and a
half million miles.
Bottom line: there is no difference in results. One can interpolate that ANY
oil all that meets API standards will be more than satisfactory.

So, which fuse is it? Anyone know?

Coolant smell through vents - heater core?08 Jun 2006 15:25 GMT3
My friend's escort has a faint coolant smell through the vents, but it
goes away after only a minute or so.  Obviously it's not wintertime
anymore so we're not running the heat, just the cool side of the vents
and sometimes the AC.  I'm of the impression it's probably the heater

never heard of it, it has an engine called Zetec, a 16V DOHC engine.

My 02 Taurus has 50k miles on it. I've noticed it making a bad vibration/rumble, not all the time, it comes and goes. I notice it more over bumps and traveling up and down hills. But it does do it just traveling down the road also. Any idea what the problem could be?
