Ford 3.9 ECT04 Sep 2006 05:40 GMT1
Does anyone know where the coolant temperature sensor is on the 3.9
liter engine in a 2000 LS.  I believe this is the AJ30 engine.  I have
been told under the intake, on the radiator, back of the head, oil
filter housing....   all by dealers!
Diagnose loss of power 93 Escort04 Sep 2006 05:28 GMT12
Hi,  I was driving down the freeway  yesterday ( a hot day), and after
about 5-10 minutes, I lost 90% engine power.
The car did not die though,  I was able to limp to the side.    A
couple hours later (after I had it towed),  it started and ran fine....
sources for 67 Ranchero parts...04 Sep 2006 00:53 GMT5
Hi - looking for an alternate source of parts besides autokrafters.com
- they have "most" of the stuff we need, but things like a replacement
gas tank is not available through them.
Please post any sources you have that have been able to fill the gaps.

Festiva screaching?
I have a 1993 Ford Festiva. Everyday when I leave to go to work, at
the first 2 stop signs there is a screaching sound when I use the brakes.
Then there isn't any noise after that until I come home. But not as much as

'04 Super Cab w/ Under 20k - Front Brakes Squealing Badly03 Sep 2006 15:29 GMT7
I bought this truck new and I have about 19.4k miles on it.  A few
weeks ago the front brakes have started squealing badly.  I looked at
the rotors this morning and they look like they are getting very
scored.
'95 Crown Vic front end03 Sep 2006 15:14 GMT2
I need to replace the idler arm and one tie rod near it - anyone done this
on one of these?  I haven't worked on a recirculating ball system in a few
hundred years.
Thanks!
bad ignition coil pack?03 Sep 2006 05:53 GMT3
I finally got my 93 Ford Escort to crank but not start.  It is getting
gas. I just bought and put in new plugs and wires.  The engine was
still cranking but not starting.  We pulled out all of the wires and
tested them and they were getting a spark except for the first plug
1992 Sable rough idle after 1 minute02 Sep 2006 21:18 GMT3
A family member has a problem with a '92 Sable (3.8L) after about 1
minute after startup (hot or cold engine).  The engine starts to idle
rough, and sometimes stalls.  Restart is fine and acceleration is good
with no problems.  The car has 76K miles and had a head gasket

94 Crown Vic Erratic Steering02 Sep 2006 17:30 GMT6
The tires are fine, the alignment is fine, the fluid level is fine.
Car won't steer straight, goes back and forth left and right, the
steering is still power (not hard as if there is no power steering).
The steering is totally treacherous and is extremely

automotive restoration project software?02 Sep 2006 04:34 GMT17
Anyone have any good recommendations for software to track automotive
restoration projects? Or, a web site that has a data base to track all
the bits, pieces, money and vendors relating to a car's restoration?
Not too worried about cost if it is good software or a good site.
