Contour/mystique/mondeo08 Dec 2006 23:14 GMT6
Found out "again" today the con-tiques are not a good DIY car -
particularly a loaded V6. The tranny pan gasket was seeping pretty bad
- 3.5 hours later ON THE HOIST, it's done. Had to pull the battery,
battery tray (8 bolts) and the A/C reciever/drier to get the pan off.

Anyone ever tried to convert a ford minivan (aerostar/windstar) into a
travel/camping van?  By this I mean remove the rows of seats at the
back and turn it into a mini living quarter?   How tight is the space
at the back?

Where's the flying Pinto?08 Dec 2006 04:12 GMT32
The only thing to save Ford, GM or Daimler-Chrysler will be to build cars
the foreigners don't.  That's the way to beat this game.  As long as these
three losers play catch up, the public will vote Toyota, Nissan and Chery.
Now that Ford has mortgaged their farm for 8 billion ...
1999 Mercury Grand Marquis LS (CAN edition)08 Dec 2006 04:01 GMT4
Single Exhaust, pipe just bought it (right behind the CAT)...
I want to go dual-exhaust... Standard OEM parts call for an H-pipe, but

a little pricier...

94 TBird coolant07 Dec 2006 09:43 GMT5
Have a question about my 94 Bird.
All summer long, the car did fine with the coolant level.  I had to add
some every 3-4 weeks.  Now that the weather has turned chilly (read:
Cold!), it is losing coolant somewhere.
1998 Ford Taurus SE06 Dec 2006 22:44 GMT4
I'm leaking power steering fluid and it's making a whining grinding noise.
The leak is coming from behind the drivers side tire. I just replaced the
pump so I need to know if I should replace the pressure hose or what.  I
need answers quick.  This is my only car and I need it back ...
2001 Taurus Heat06 Dec 2006 22:26 GMT3
I have a 2001 Ford Taurus SE with 57,000 miles on it. The heating
system works fine, except for the temperature of the heat coming out of
the vents; it is only warm. If I turn the temperature setting down, the
heat gets cooler and so forth. Usually, my heat is very hot, but it has
