Single piston engines30 Apr 2007 23:16 GMT81
Since yuppies tend to live real close to the area they work, wouldn't
it make sense to offer a car that did what they needed?
They don't need something that can go over 60MPH and don't need a ton
of horsepower either.
Question about Idle adjustment (97 T-bird 4.6)30 Apr 2007 19:10 GMT2
Just did a long overdue manifold swap and while at it replaced the old
water pump, alternator, and radiator.  Runs like a dream and for the
first time since I bought it new I think, there are no warning lights on
the dash.

F150 Lariat 1991 Nightmare30 Apr 2007 16:23 GMT8
I will try to be as brief as possible in hopes that someone knows what
I am talking about and actually has some decent advice ( I hope )
Well here it goes, I go out and buy this truck and as I remove the
valve cover gaskets i find sludge and oil caked onto all the valves.
my 92 Ranger manual valve question30 Apr 2007 10:05 GMT14
OK, even though I got no respose to my question about taking the
manual valve out without losing anything, I decided that I would go
ahead and remove it. So, if anyone wants to know, yes, you can take
the manual valve out of a A4LD transmission while still in the truck.
CAFE standards controlled by our Government? Can someone explain why?30 Apr 2007 02:33 GMT59
I've noticed that CAFE's don't get raised very often, or maybe I don't
pay careful attention when they DO raise them?
Nevertheless, why can't we raise the CAFE standards on a fixed
interval of time? Why can't we make it a goal that we ALWAYS raise the

Ford last only  $282 million last quarter. That's down from losses of over
$1.4 billion last year for the same quarter.
They claim they are on track with their recovery plan.

03 Taurus Steering Noise28 Apr 2007 22:27 GMT4
It has been like this since almost new, noise is louder in colder temps.  It
is a moan kind of sound as the steering wheel is turning in the
counterclockwise rotation.  Feels like a hydraulic sort of drag in the
system.  The quicker you turn the wheel, as in parking maneuvers, ...
Squeaking/Ratting Suspension - 96 Grand Marquis28 Apr 2007 05:55 GMT5
I have a 1996 Grand Marquis LS with around 200,000 km on it (~120,000
miles).
The car has a rattling noise going over bumps coming from the front
passenger side, and also has a loud squeaking/groaning noise (like an old
2007 Ford Escape ... worth buying?28 Apr 2007 00:44 GMT17
Currently I'm in the market for a new vehicle, and after my years of
driving a Ford Escort GT, I've decided to stick with the Ford brand!!
So I've been looking really closely at the 2007 Ford Escape Hybrid and
was wondering if anyone here has one and if they had any insight on it
Caps leaking on 1990 E250 ECU27 Apr 2007 15:38 GMT13
I've been trying for the last couple days to figure out why my 1990
E250 Van (Granville camper conversion) is refusing to start after its
winter break.  Among the zillion things I've been doing with it, I
decided to pull the ECU.  Inside I found the following.
Former Ford worker, Lee Iococca, says Plug in hybrids next big thing27 Apr 2007 14:00 GMT7
Lee Iacocca, who used to work for Ford, talked about the American auto
makers.
Mr. Iacocca, who was asked to run Chrysler when Chrysler was acquired by
DimalerBenz (oopsie, it was a merger of equals), as well as ran Chrysler
Crank Key, will not come out.27 Apr 2007 04:43 GMT3
Does anyone have any ideas on how to remove a crank key from the end
of a crankshaft?  I tried grabbing it with pliers, knocking it out
with a hammer and chisel, thought about heat but worried about the
effects on the crank, bearing, seal.  Any tricks I should be aware of?
Binding in steering26 Apr 2007 23:47 GMT1
When I move my steering wheel all the way to the left or right, it
binds up. It feels like something is obstructing the tires when I then
start to drive. It also happens when I take very sharp turns. When I
actually turn it all the way to the right or left, and then get out of
