Aerostar 4.0 (4wd) engine replace with 3.0 (from 2wd) ?23 Aug 2007 17:39 GMT3
I found an Aerostar 3.0 2wd -88 that I could use for body parts. Also
thought would it be easy to replace the 4.0 engine that had problems
with lifters, with the 3.0 engine from the 2wd van ?

I recently purchased a 1996 F-150, 5.0 with an E4od transmission.
This transmission does not slip and shifts really well under quick
acceleration.  However under normal driving when it reaches approx. 30
mph cruising in town it wants to start what appears to be a very quick
97 ranger PS23 Aug 2007 09:33 GMT9
I noticed a large puddle of pink fluid under my recently purchased
ranger.  I see that the steering gearbox is soaked, but the pump is
not.  Also, the steel parts of the hoses are very rusty.  What is the
likelyhood that the gearbox was bad at 127K miles?  What would cause

1988 F150 Sloppy Steering22 Aug 2007 06:10 GMT4
The play in my steering wheel was about 3-4 inches on each side of
center.  I replaced the steering gear with a rebuilt from Advanced and
now the play is about 1 inch on each side of center.  I was expecting
it to be like factory new after replacing the steering box but was
'01 Continental Power Seat Problem22 Aug 2007 06:08 GMT2
I have  a '01 Lincoln Continental and am having trouble with the power
drivers seat.  It wants to stick in the very back position.  If I move
the switch a few times it will go forward sluggishly.  All of the
other adjustments on the seat work fine.  It only is slow going
adding cruise control22 Aug 2007 06:02 GMT1
How difficult and expensive would it be to add cruise control to a
1997 ranger 2.3L?  I would prefer to have the steering wheel with the
controls on it.  Where should I look for kits or whatever?
