ford escort 97 - service engine soon message24 Oct 2007 07:15 GMT3
I have ford escort 97, with quite low mileage: less than 100,000 km.
It now displays a message: "Service Engine soon". I took it to a mechanic
and he said everything is OK and it displays the message
probably because something happened to the gas cap with time  or something

My '97 Thunderbird LX with 3.8L engine has been throwing a "Service Engine
Soon" light every now and then.  Checking and retightening the fuel tank cap is
about the only remedy I know about, and that hasn't worked in stopping the light
from going on and off.

I'm looking at a 2001 F450 with a service body on it (auto with a 7.3l
powerstroke and about 180,000 miles). Are there any known problems
with that year truck and also hauling a heavy steel service body
around?
CR no longer considers Toyota 'automatically' reliable19 Oct 2007 15:58 GMT6
Due to falling reliability, Consumer Reports is no longer going to
automatically recommend a new or redesigned Toyota model. They will have
to wait a year or so until there is valid data. The V6 Camry, 4WD V8
Tundra and AWD GS all ranked 'below average'.

I have a 1988 Ford Fiesta 1.4 CFI as a cheap extra car. The car is in
an excellent condition, but when accelerating at low speeds it
hesitates. When it reaches about 3.000 rpms it accelerates without any
problems.
