Escort alternator bad?20 Dec 2007 00:26 GMT7
I have a 94' Escort with the 1.9 engine. The alternator/battery charging
                                                light has been coming
on, but only when the engine speed reaches about 2000/rpm. It goes out
when the RPM drops below 2K. The headlights dim a little when the ...
1996 Lincoln Continental with transmission problems19 Dec 2007 13:14 GMT5
I think you guys are missing my point... I understand that a tranny overhaul
might be the only solution, but...
It's the "WIERD PART" that is confusing me.
This tranny drives out great! It doesn't slip. It shifts out just fine. It
TIP: Easy Alternator refurbish18 Dec 2007 21:05 GMT11
If your mid-90's Ford has run up it's mileage to about 100 - 150 kmiles
or so, you might want to undertake a quick Saturday project that will
probably save you big bucks -and inconvenience- in the near future.
(MAny 20 year old and newer alternators are built similar to this)
Paint protection film ?18 Dec 2007 05:57 GMT3
Just purchased a new vehicle and the dealer had a folder describing
a clear film that can be applied in frontal areas to eliminate the normal
dings, scratches, etc that appear over time. Dealer doesn't install,
done by another shop.

2008 Taurus X17 Dec 2007 17:54 GMT2
I'm in the market for a mid-sized SUV and, among others, will be checking
out the 2008 Taurus X which I understand is a redesigned Freestyle.  If
anyone can share their experience with the 2008 Taurus X, I would appreciate
it.

I have a situation in which the brakelights on an 1989 Mercury Tracer
will not come on.  I have replace the bulbs, and the brake switch.  I
have checked and determined that power is passing thru the fuse but
the connection at the wiring harness is not getting any power to pass
I'm back and it's still sitting in my garage...17 Dec 2007 05:42 GMT46
So, I have taken most of your advice and I am still stationary...     The
situation is my 93 GT ran well Friday night, but Saturday morning it would
not start and this is what I have done...      Any and all advice,
suggestions and prayers will be greatly appreciated!!!
No Idle for a while (intermittent)17 Dec 2007 04:51 GMT3
1999 Grand Marquis LS (~60,000 miles). It does that from time to time, I
have to keep my foot on the gas pedal for a while, otherwise, it *will*
stall. (it doesn't idle)
Happened again yesterday, had to play with both pedals for a couple of
Can't start keyless entry programming mode 2003 Windstar17 Dec 2007 04:05 GMT2
I'm not able to enter programming mode to add a second keyless entry remote
for a 2003 Windstar. Electronicly unlock doors and switch the key on-off 8
times ending with the key on. Nothing happens and the original remote still
works.
What happens to the spare tire?17 Dec 2007 00:08 GMT29
We bought our EX new in 2002. We will need a set of new tires
soon. The original spare has never been on the road.
Should we get three new tires and use the "spare" or four new
tires and not bother the spare. It would seem like a waste to

Ford Lincoln Mk. VIII vehicle alarm defeat-199616 Dec 2007 18:35 GMT7
Hi! Anyone out there know how to defeat the factory alarm system on a Mark
8?  Alarm goes off randomly and I dont think its worth troubleshooting too
deeply- from the schematics it looks like the 3 fuses associated with the
alarm also power other functions, but it looks like simply ...

Local guy has a 98 crown vic interceptor. He bought it at auction at 83K

has been used as a squad. It does have 2 spot lights but in has a nicer
interior than the squads I've seen. What should I look for ...
