| Flathead vs OHV design | 23 Jan 2008 08:39 GMT | 6 |
I got to thinking about flathead valve/port design the other day and investigated on the net. Flathead intake and exhaust ports are cast into the block. Intake is relatively simple. Exhaust ports ran from above the cyl., around

| Truck transmission question | 22 Jan 2008 00:07 GMT | 9 |
I have been looking at some mid to late 80's F150's and F250's. The ones that had manual transmissions were all 4 speeds where first gear is a "granny gear". Is this normal? I would think that most of the transmission would be geared more like a car and not have the granny gear.

| Fusion 4 vs 6 any comments | 21 Jan 2008 21:46 GMT | 7 |
I was wondering if the Fusion with 4 cylinder has enough power. The mpg is better that the V6 but I fear that it maybe underpowered. The manual 5 speed may compensate for it. I'm not looking for a race car just something that holds it's own on the interstate. Any Comments?

| C6 "wide ratio" mod...worth it? | 20 Jan 2008 10:00 GMT | 5 |
Before me, I have a very toasty and well used C6 behind a code H 390. I want to do a good build on the C6, and have been wondering what peoples' experience has been at using an AOD (or equivalent) front gear set in a C6 to give a 2.78 first vis à vis 2.46. I understand
