I am finding an inordinate amount of water (presumed condensation) in the mufflers on my '94 Tbird. Mufflers threaten to rust out. Is this normal? If so, why didn't they do stainless exhaust components? Any way to keep mufflers from rusting out?

I HAVE A 1998 FORD ESCORT AND THE TIMMING BELT BROKE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. WE REPLACED THE BELT AND STARTED THE ENGINE. THE ENGINE IS RUNNING ROUGH AND IS MAKING A NOISE. WE HAVE NOT TRY DRIVING THE CAR AND WILL NOT TILL WE KNOW WHAT IS WRONG. wHAT SHOULD WE DO NEXT. THANKS FOR

I did already change the bearing, so far it seems fine, but I was wondering there was a fiber washer right behind the slip ring, in front of the bearing, and one behind the bearing,under the sheet metal dust cap. I put them back in, but not sure if I needed them or not.

It looks like someone put vacuum lines on this engine incorrectly. There are the two temp operated vacuum switches in the water flange on top of the engine. distributor vacuum advance (no retard)
