Head gasket question18 Mar 2008 18:21 GMT1
Thanks to all who have responded to my previous posts.  Today I have a
question about my head gasket.  The engine block has large tear-drop shaped
openings for the water flow.  The head matches the tear-drop shaped
openings.  However, the head gasket has only two of the tear-drop ...
Helicoil question18 Mar 2008 18:05 GMT9
Does anyone know if Helicoils are water-tight?  I just got my head back from
the machine shop and found that in removing a ported vacuum switch they
broke it flush with the little block.  It wasn't  their fault because I
couldn't remove it and they had to remove it to do the ...

95 Thunderbird fuel pump17 Mar 2008 18:16 GMT12
I just lost my 95 T-Bird in a total loss accident last week. Luckily
everyone was OK. That car was in almost showroom condition and I'll never
get anywhere close to it’s worth to me from insurance. My wife had just
filled the fuel tank and I want to get that fuel out. Any idea how ...
2000 Ranger16 Mar 2008 15:14 GMT1
I have a 2000 Ranger with automatic transmission. It just recently started
slamming into gear when I start from a dead stop. (Usually just first
gear.)  When I go through the gears manually it seems to work fine. The
fluid appears to be OK. Any ideas.

Its dripping water behind a spacer in the back of the water pump.
Already replaced the water pump & gasket, is there a water seal/jacket
in that area?
cruise control recall16 Mar 2008 02:46 GMT19
Hey friends -
I got the letter but really don't want to do without cruise until the
harness comes in.  If I got the story right, the switch under the hood leaks
brake fluid, eating the plastic and letting wires touch and burn.
Crossover Pipe Question14 Mar 2008 01:40 GMT1
I have a 1990 Ford F150 truck with Fuel Injection.
It's got the 5L engine.  My crossover pipe is rusting out.  I went to
the parts store and nearly fell on my a.s when they told me the price
of a new one is $370.  I asked why it cost so much.  It comes with the

Fuel pump keeps running13 Mar 2008 07:24 GMT5
I have a 1990 Ford F150 truck with Fuel Injection.
It's got the 5L engine.
For some reason, when the weather is cold, every so often I shut off
the ignition switch, and I can hear the electric (in tank) fuel pump
1996 Ford Ranger DTC 14413 Mar 2008 02:06 GMT4
I am getting a DTC 144 on a 2.3 4 cyl. 1996 ranger 5 speed. The check
engine light is on. Auto Zone read the code and reset the check engine
light but came back on. It gets 23 MPG and runs good. The following is
given for that code.
A War on Horsepower?12 Mar 2008 23:37 GMT9
"The freedom to drive fast in a powerful car is fundamental to
the mystique that auto makers use to sell cars. Now, as if the
auto industry didn't have enough trouble, come more signs of a
looming war on horsepower and speed..."

2008 Acura TSX:Sporty and economic, with room for baby.
This car has been a joy to drive in the few short days that I've
driven it. It handles well, has excellent fuel economy and is roomy
without losing the sporty feel. At 28k, it's probably the most
Forever Warranty12 Mar 2008 17:08 GMT11
I have been hearing these television commercials from a local Ford dealership that is
promising new & used vehicles that have powertrain's warranted forever. Since automobiles
don't last forever & wear out sooner or later what's the catch on this ?
ABS and Brake light sound off intermittenly on Taurus12 Mar 2008 02:22 GMT1
I own a 2004 Ford Taurus with 79k miles.  I bought the car with 23k
miles on it three years ago.
A few weeks ago the ABS and Brake warning lights would pop up a few
times a week along with that LOUD bell.  The brakes seemed fine and my
