Reading Explorer Powertrain Trouble Codes22 Nov 2008 16:55 GMT1
I'm getting the perverbial flashing "O/D" light on my '02 Explorer.
The tranny seems to be working fine, but the day may be comming...
I've got an ELM327 scan tool, but can't pull the tranny code. Have
tried most of the ELM-based software and none of them will even detect
GM & Ford leaders MUST fly by private jet plane22 Nov 2008 13:23 GMT3
>GM Chief Executive Rick Wagoner and Ford Chief Executive Alan Mulally are

B.S. Scheduled airliners are several times safer to fly on than corporate
94  F150   4WD buttons dont work21 Nov 2008 17:51 GMT2
I've been looking for a newer used pickup.  I had a 90 F150 that was
falling apart.  To go into 4WD, I had to go outside and shift the
wheel lockouts.  Then shift the floor mounted lever into 4WD high or
4WD low.  I looked at a 94  F150 at a used car lot.  I took it for a
GM can't even beg properly21 Nov 2008 15:13 GMT16
Wall Street Journal http://atu.ca/65ee2
Pity the poor one million General Motors shareholders.
GM shares now trade at less than three bucks — they’re
almost certainly worth zero. And the company can’t even
Question about 1999 Grand Marquis21 Nov 2008 14:25 GMT4
Just wondering... The car has a fail-safe cooling system, and according
to the manual what it does is alternate between cylinders pumping air
into the engine block. Nice idea, but couldn't they adapt that system
for everyday use? I mean it's not like it needs all 8 cylinders at
Wagoner arrives in Wash.,DC via private jet21 Nov 2008 01:33 GMT20
Rick travels by private jet to Washington with tin cup in hand to beg for
billions in public funds! What's the matter with First Class commercial
liner? Or jet-pooling with your fellow beggars, Alan  Mulally and the
butthole from Chrysler, whose name I have forgotten due to ...
1996 Lincoln Continental 4.6 V8 with transmission problems19 Nov 2008 06:34 GMT4
It's the "WIERD PART" that is confusing me.
This tranny drives out great! It doesn't slip. It shifts out just
fine. It
pulls hard. The car has even been on a couple 1000 mile trips. Then,
bail out request18 Nov 2008 18:53 GMT13
I wouldn't put two bloody cents in to any big three manufacturers.
They need to trim down their lines, get in line with fuel efficiency
and alternative fuels... and focus on their people and quality.  This
can't take the back burner AGAIN just because fuel prices are
death rattle? from 3.8L V618 Nov 2008 17:16 GMT16
I have a '94 car with the 3.8L V6. The car has done about 40k miles since
an engine rebuild (as you might expect, the rebuild was due to failed head
gasket).
The engine now intermittently makes a squeaking noise. Sometimes it is

I have a '88 Ford Tempo GL and for the past couple months now, I've
been needing to give my car a jump almost 3 times a day. I put a new
battery in it after a couple weeks of having that problem, but I still
get the same problem all the time. If I don't run the car for a
93 vs 96 crown vic17 Nov 2008 15:11 GMT7
I recently sold my 93 crown and got a 96.  street CV's not police.
The 96 has a lot less throttle response than the 93, and seems like it
even has less pickup.
Anything I could check or try here to see whats going on with the 96?
Headlight Problem - 2001 Windstar17 Nov 2008 12:32 GMT14
This is really weird...
The digital warning came on the dash and reads "Check Left Headlight", I get
out of the van and bang on the headlight lens and it comes on. A day or two
later same problem so I replace the bulb, same problem again, bang on the

heater motor comes on when it wants to--checked switches on dash all ok
--heater motor ok--its as if something under hood must warm up to
work--when it comes on you can turn it off and on and it works fine till
you shut off engine and let get cold then it stops working
Contour/mystique transmission range selector switch.17 Nov 2008 02:30 GMT1
The OD light has started flashing intermittently on my wife's 96
Mystique. Seems to happen when it's wet out, but cannot be 100% sure -
it has only happened 2 or 3 times, and never when I am around.
I suspect it is the TR switch.
4 Wheel Drive trucks are too expensive16 Nov 2008 21:26 GMT2
4 Wheel Drive trucks are too expensive.
I am looking for a zero wheel drive.  They should be real cheap.
Anyone got one?
