2001 2L manual, just started "pulsing", seems like it's running on 2 cylinders 90% of the time, then literally, every second, the other 2 join in, but only for 1/10th second approx. Does this kind of fault have any explanation / solution??

Hey, all, I have an old Ford dump truck with a straight 6 300 (it's an F-500 from 1970). I got it used a few years ago and it knocked pretty badly and finally threw a rod yielding a viewport on the side of the block. I replaced the engine with a rebuilt one from a machine shop

I have an E-250 Ford Econoline Van . . . but I think the setup may be identical for E-250 trucks (?). I researched and bought the air filter (a Fram CA8039, which is the same as the Motorcraft FA-1632). It's a cone-style air filter.

My obd still indicates lean fuel mixture so I tested fuel pressure. After pressure was released and key turned on the pressure was 20lbs. After starting the engine the pressure rose to 31 lbs. Then, on removing vacuum from the pressure regulator, the pressure rose to 40.
