2000 Cavalier Z24 Power Window30 Sep 2004 15:48 GMT5
The passenger's side power window has stopped working on my son's Z24.
When he brought it to me the glass was in the fully down position.  We
removed the door panel and plastic moisture barrier to find the
motor/regulator assembly is rivetted in place. Problem is to remove

More on Kruggerands engine saga29 Sep 2004 16:58 GMT5
As suggested by you folks (thanks) I visited the dealer to inspect the
alleged crack in the block. What I found was a spot about 1 and 1/2
inches down from the top of the cylinder against the wall. the spot
about the size of a dime was discolored from the torch they used to
Power Door Lock problem on 2000 Monte Carlo SS29 Sep 2004 06:23 GMT2
I have a gremlin in my power door locks in my 2000 Monte Carlo SS.
At random moments in time the door locks on BOTH doors will try to
repeatedly lock. This will go on anywhere from a few seconds to a few
minutes at a time, then stop and not do it for days. Sometimes it happens
1998 Pontiac Grand Prix Shift Lock Problem29 Sep 2004 03:28 GMT2
I have a 98 Grand Prix GT 4 door.  Common problem - we can not get out
of park unless we press the shift lock button.  My wife said at first
it happened only some time, and now it is all the time.  This makes me
think a bad solenoid?  I thought if it were a ground or something else

Shocks and struts worn out at 48,000 miles on '02 Olds minivan ... normal?28 Sep 2004 20:02 GMT2
Our 2002 van has just been used for normal family duties and rarely is
heavily loaded.
The front struts and rear shocks were so worn by 48,000 miles that the
vehicle pitched all over the place.

The editor from the New York Times called me last week. They wanted to use

real wheel bearing 98 Jimmy28 Sep 2004 05:47 GMT2
I replaced rear rotors on my 1998 GMC Jimmy. Its a 4X4. When I test drove in
it had a rubbing noise like the parking brake was dragging. I removed them
but it still has the noise. I am thinking real wheel bears. Any other
thoughts and what are the basics for replacing real wheel ...

With this 99 Cavalier, I've got a rear window defogger which just stopped

I have a 1984 Riviera 307 with a Rochester 4bbl.  Rebuilt two carbs, new
plugs, wires, battery, cap, rotor.  It idles rough and generally runs

cat?  any feedback and other ideas appreciated.
another thought on Kruggerands buick 3800 II problem27 Sep 2004 21:53 GMT5
Been looking at december and january 03 and 04 and there are a great
number of posts that discuss the intake manifold and gasket.
Apparently this manifold can warp or the gasket can leak.....if either
happens would this give the appearance of a ...blown head gasket or a
98 Lumina Problem (tranny?)26 Sep 2004 19:05 GMT1
I got an 98 Lumina with a 3.1L motor with 170000kms.  When in overdrive the
tranny will create a unusual shift between gears, seems like it slips for a
couple seconds.  this problem will occur at any random point but usually at
15km/h or around 70km/h. also seems to happen after ...

My 1999 Monte Carlo is starting to take much longer to generate heat.
It started at the end of last winter.  The car ran fine all summer so
it slipped my mind including AC working fine.  Now that the winter is
coming I would like to replace the thermostat.  Can anyone give me an
cracked block in our 3800 buick engine  after the 98 factory recall26 Sep 2004 17:23 GMT8
Took our 98 perfect running lesabre limited in to accomplish the

returned to the dealer who indicated that after putting the computer
