| Engine racing | 07 Sep 2004 00:47 GMT | 2 |
I have a 2003 Pontiac Vibe. Occasionally, when I put my foot on the brake, the engine starts racing - so much so that I have to push with all my might on the brake to keep it from zooming forward. Usually, if I shift to neutral then back to drive, the engine quits racing, but

| 91 Pontiac Grand Am Acceleration problem | 06 Sep 2004 18:44 GMT | 3 |
I have a 1991 Pontiac Grand Am with a 2.5L TBI. I have noticed that, especially on hills, that the acceleration tends to warble (meaning it doesn't hold steady). I thought it was a clogging fuel filter, so I replaced it. It still did it. Then, I changed the spark plugs. It

Begging the groups pardon if this vehicle is a little too old to be considered on topic. An old family friend, which has served me well for old car events for the past 15 years is currently looking for a new home.

| Astroshield? | 05 Sep 2004 03:37 GMT | 3 |
Anybody familiar with Astroshield polish (http://www.astroshield.com/)? I've heard some decent things about it, even that they use it in the military and on the Disney World monorail cars. My local store doesn't carry my old brand anymore, and they

| DRL question | 05 Sep 2004 03:23 GMT | 5 |
Just bought a used '95 Beretta. First car I've ever owned that had DRLs, I'm just curious if this is normal operation. The car is supposed to automatically switch to headlights when it gets dark (there is a sensor somewhere) otherwise it's DRLs. If I start

| No EGR + Car goes like a Jack Rabbit! | 03 Sep 2004 18:37 GMT | 2 |
I had a 92 Caprice 305 with an intermittant borked EGR valve which was causing oddball hesitation and spongy acceleration. The car has 300k+ miles on it so it did take some time to diagnose it even though the car is in tip top shape.

'99 Malibu, 3.1 v6 I'm nearing 150,000 km on my trusty Malibu. Decided it would be smart to change the fuel filter even though GM does not suggest an interval. One side has a normal flare nut connection. This I was able to loosen
