| 3.8 Head gasket leaks | 31 Oct 2004 23:44 GMT | 3 |
After reading a post where 3800 II engines are being recalled for head gaskets I decided to check mine. Sure enough, the front head gasket is leaking oil fairly bad on the drivers side. So I decided to start a new tread...

| LeSabre? | 30 Oct 2004 06:59 GMT | 5 |
I am thinking about a 95 LeSabre. I want to hear about pros/cons. Is the tranny reliable? I have had real good luck with 4L60 tranny but generally don't trust automatics. Would an older, gen I 3.8L be more reliable than gen. II?

I just installed a "high volume" oil pump in my 1989 GMC 350 v8 with 163,000 mi. Pressure went from approx 10 - 20psi up to almost 60psi, which is great but the guy at the parts store said a new nylon sleeve that secures the drive shaft to the pump will work fine. But the note that ...

| 1993 Buick LaSabre | 28 Oct 2004 03:08 GMT | 1 |
My LaSabre has been running badly in the cool mornings. If you step on the gas it coughs and sort of back fires. It has new plugs and wires. At high speeds the check engine light comes on and if you try to speed up it hesitates. I took it to Auto Zone and it came up with a code 44 ...

I recently purchased a 2000 Pontiac Sunfire with a factory AM/FM/CD/Tape stereo that has a red LCD display. The display is faded on the right half -- the left hand side is very bright, whereas the right hand side is barely readable.

Does anyone remember the old squeeze-bulb-type antifreeze density measuring devices? You know, the ones with the floating plastic balls that tell you the glycol-to-water mix? Will one of those work (ie be acurate) with the new Dexcool antifreeze? Are there new versions of
