Just read in the Chicago Tribune today, of a guy who wrote in to the
Auto Know it All, that in order to change the headlight bulb in his
Nisssan Maxima ( no year given ) the front bumper has to come off.
The Auto Guy confirmed this to be true by calling a few other Nissan

Olds 88 Engine Quits26 Dec 2004 22:59 GMT2
When starting out in morning and only when temp is cold (below 30 F, say)
and just before the engine has fully warmed up (after 3 miles or more
driving) the engine suddenly runs rough and quits AND the gas petal freezes
in place.  A hard foot jab to the gas petal releases it and I ...
alternator circuit question26 Dec 2004 14:13 GMT63
I have a 91 Plymouth Acclaim, and the alternator doesn't charge
the battery.  I took the alternator out and had it tested, and
there's nothing wrong with it.  I put a new battery in it, but
it still won't charge.  I checked the fuseable link from the
very, VERY strange...26 Dec 2004 01:55 GMT14
It's been about 8 months now since anything has gone wrong with my 89
Cutlass Supreme.  I was starting to like not having to repair or
replace, and instead just maintain!:)
But lastnight I drove to Mississauga, Ontario to pick-up my brother.
No power steering?25 Dec 2004 20:55 GMT8
My wife decided to show off and do a donut at her school in her 2001 impala.
She then called me to complain that she doesn't have power steering.  I
found the fluid was empty even though I check it every couple weekends so I
thought maybe a line was leaking.  Topped it off and we ...

90 Buick Century cranks slow, won't start24 Dec 2004 04:24 GMT2
My 1990 Buick Century (V-6, 3.3) has been cranking sluggishly lately.
Most recently it got worse: It turns over a couple of times and stops.
It's random -- sometimes it starts, sometimes it doesn't. But even when
it starts, the cranking is slower than it used to be. Suspected the ...

1990 Buick LeSabre23 Dec 2004 21:01 GMT1
Just purchased a nice '90 LeSabre - the driver's back seat is at too
much of an angle for me to be comfortable - when I tried to adjust the
seat, there was no control that I could find.  My manual says there
should be a manual lever or an eletric control but I can't find either?! ...

I got a letter in the mail from GM saying that the Ignition Switch on my
2000 Cavalier will catch on fire and that GM will Fix this problem.
Does anybody know what they have to do to fix this problem.... I do not
want them taking the dash apart or the Steering Wheel to fix this
1999 Grand Am V6 Spark Plug Removal23 Dec 2004 01:36 GMT1
Had no difficulty removing the front 3 plugs.
Having a very difficult time removing the 3 rear plugs and wires.  Are
there any tricks?  What should I remove to get easier access to the plugs?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Temperature problem on Olds Alero23 Dec 2004 01:26 GMT2
The temperature gauge on my 2001 Olds Alero stopped working yesterday.
Actually, it only moves a tiny bit and stays right over the "COLD"
level, no matter how long the car is running. However, the heat works
fine, and it didn't overheat, even though I was driving it for an hour
Cooling Fan behavior on 94' Chevy Corsica 310023 Dec 2004 00:35 GMT1
My 94' Corsica 3100, now heats to about 3/4 all the time when idling, and
works it way back down to 1/2 (thermostat opens?) and it is the dead of
winter here.   The fan does not come on, even if I turn on A/C.  I took it
to my mechanic who did the replace the valve cover and manfold ...
