The engine in this car continues to overheat at freeway speeds. We've
replaced the water pump, thermostat, radiator, coolant tank and the pressure
cap. Filled and bled the system, fans work, idles all day long with no

My 3.1L, 120K miles, intake manifold failed and lots of coolant in oil.  Had
it fixed (knowing there could be more problems) and sure enough after only a
couple of hundred miles (or less) there's a pretty good knock now.  Suspect
a main bushing?

Folks,
Have been eyeballing a 2004 Alero "program car" at a local GM dealer.  Does
anyone out there know how GM determines the price to charge their dealers
for these vehicles?

   The wiper motor on my 85 Chevy Caprice makes a squealing sound on "High",
and once I even saw smoke coming from it, when on the "High" setting. The
wipers move more slowly than usual also.  Is this what happens when a wiper
motor has gone bad ?

My older daughter paid for a very expensive service contract from the dealer
when she bought a 2000 Alero last October.  It cost her $1500 from a company
called Fidelity Warranty Services.  She bought this thing without consulting
old dad at the time.
