timing chain, EGR, PCV, rebuilt the carb twice then replaced it, fuel

OK.. 97 Blazer, 4.3 Vortec, 118,000 miles.
Over the miles, alternator, water pump, a/c compressor, transmission,

The idle on this engine is high. My shop mechanic says it is the gasket
between the tbi and air intake. I replaced it and see no difference. Any
other ideas?

this is my first GMC (2004 Sierra p/u 4800 vortec) and I thought it abnormal
when it couldn't warm up at idle.  The dealer replaced the thermostat but it
still doesn't warm up at idle.  I've driven 5 miles to work and left it
idling for over twenty minutes and the gauge reads 175 ...

this morning i was driving and as i was driving, the check engine
light flicked on, then off almost imediately... then at the same time
a light right above the gas guage flicked as well, so fast i couldnt
