The interior lights will not go out. I pulled out the switch on the dash, cleaned all the contacts and it appeared to work while using my ohmeter. Any ideas?

I am about to change my spark plugs and wires and the book says I have to undo the negative cable on my battery and turn off or bypass the Anti-theft device. Can anyone tell me what to do or if I have to do this to change my spark plugs?

On the 2001 Impala's, is it still possible to pull the trouble codes, or is it just easier to take it to AutoZone or someplace like that? Needed to get it inspected today and there was a fear that it wouldn't pass.
