I've turned this truck into a roadster (no roof) and no longer need to have
the AC compressor in the engine compartment.
All I want to do is get rid of the AC compressor, the other stuff doesn't
eat HP.

I am posting this here for mechanical novices or people like myself with
just enough knowledge to be dangerous.  Here is a hard learned lesson in
not checking/fixing the obvious first.  For the most part, no trouble
codes were available to diagnose the problem.

You will note the Chevy Impala got a check marked recommendation yet there
wasn't much nice about the car in the write up.  I don't quite figure it.
On a more important matter, the fuel economy of all the cars was abysmal.

the pump is ok, but isn't getting a full 12v...only gets ~7v...when I
put 12v on it, it works fine...I suspect the switch on the turn signal
