Well folks, finally got the spider gears out of the vehicle, but now
have one more question. Someone told me that the carrier that houses
the gears needs to be replaced. How do I know for sure if I need a new
carrier. No obvious breaks nor pitting. They thought it had too much

I have read the various posts regarding what to look for. Can someone

owner stated he changed the compressor and since the system was low on

My fan stopped working at the lowest setting.  Figured I'd remove and check
the fan resistor pack - what a nightmare.  I fiured I'd have to stand on my
head to get it out, but the rear screw is so buried behand the foam/plastic

The fan wont start by itself sometimes I have to kick it underneath the
passenger side to get it going. It is not the resistor pack for sure.

Just found this problem, engine light on showed a misfire.  Had shop
double check all of the injectors and fuel pressure, all good.  Install
a new fuel filter.  Then did a new plugs.  Thought it might be a spark
plug wire, installed a know good one, no fix.  Then swapped with the

Vehicle is 1994 Chev silverado 350 5.7l engine w a/c
I have recently (2 weeks) changed my belt and no noise for those 2
weeks then squeaking. Changed tensioner still noise.
Only get the noise when stepping on the gas after tensioner change. Any

Got oil change and checked it a week later and it's 1 inch above  the "Full"
mark on stick.

Some of the electrical connectors on my '63 Corvair have heavy rust. They
are plated steel. I can use rust remover to clean them up but the bare metal
will rust eventually. I am looking for ways to tin, plate or seal the metal.
The only idea that I have is to use silicone grease.

Is it true that when a private party sells a used car that they will
claim it as a gift (in California) so that both parties can avoid
paying a tax? Its been suggested to me that "everyone" does it this way
and that my buyer will expect to do it like this when I sell my car. I
