97 Blazer rough start Dies08 Jan 2007 22:40 GMT3
I've had my blazer for a few years and I am approaching 120k in miles.
I did a tune up (Spark plug wires, plugs, rotor and cap) at about 85k.
I just replaced the fuel filter.  When I start up the beast, sometimes
it runs fine, sometimes when the idle comes down from the start, it

Any problems with putting a modern GM small block crate motor into a 1957 Chevy?08 Jan 2007 07:35 GMT12
I'm helping my buddy pull the tired engine from his '57 today.  The
question is whether to rebuild it (a 283) or to replace it with a modern
GM crate engine.  GM offers a small block for "pre-1985 vehicles) which
looks at first glance like it should drop right in.  I wonder, ...
'99 Buick Century - How to disassemble 'steering column bulkhead connector'08 Jan 2007 05:06 GMT4
I'm replacing the turn signal/cruise control switch in my wife's
Century.  I'm down to where I unplug the two connectors (1 gray, 1
black) from what's called, in the Alldata procedure (and I assume also
in the GM FSM, which I don't have), the 'steering column bulkhead

I'm liking the possibilities of this, can I keep my '05 going until the
new RWD Imp comes out?  RWD and IRS YEAH BABY.  Only thing is I know the
company won't pop for a V-8 version, what is this ...

Good news for full sized car fans (if true)07 Jan 2007 07:04 GMT5
Spotted in the front section of this month's Hemmings Muscle Machines -
apparently the next-gen Impala will be built off of a RWD, Holden
Commodore-based platform rather than the current Lumina-based platform.
IMHO this is good news as although I haven't driven one, the Holden
Wheel balance weights07 Jan 2007 06:30 GMT1
I have a 2006 Lucerne with the 10 spoke chrome plated wheels.
The balancing weights appear to be attached in some way other than the usual
"clinching" method I'm used to seeing.  Eight some great adhesive or welded?
They are visible through the openings and located on the inside ...
flush07 Jan 2007 00:15 GMT3
I'm still having trouble with no heat getting into cab, I checked under the
hood and every thing is warming up, rad hoses etc. Awhile ago I added stop
leak for a leak since then I think we have had the problem, this was in
warmer conditions and did not notice until it got colder, ...
3800 V6 - What is this?06 Jan 2007 20:24 GMT3
I have a 98 Park Avenue with 55K miles on it. Because of the infamous intake
manifold leak associated with these engines I keep a close eye on it for
coolant leaks.
Today while I was inspecting my engine compartment I noticed a small metal
86 Cavalier High idle06 Jan 2007 06:11 GMT7
Hello, I have an '86 Cavalier with a 2.0. It idles high when started
and doesn't idle down. It seems to idle even faster when it's warmed
up. We've changed the computer and throttle position sensor. Still no
luck.I thought it might be a vacuum leak somewhere or a bad sensor that

Can anyone explain the differences between the 3800 series ll and the series
lll? Has the intake manifold leak problem been fixed on the series lll?
