I've have an 83 Pontiac 6000 STE with what looks like a bad
alternator . This is 108 amp Delco SI. The system is not charging -
there is only battery voltage at the battery (spec is 13.3 - 14.4 V.)
Unfortunately the dash diode and alt lights are not working  but the

I popped my hood this morning and noticed that the rubber intake duct
between the filter housing and the intake had come loose from the metal
intake flange on one side.  I have no idea how long it was like that.
Fortunately it wasn't totally off, and there aren't any obvious ...
