96 Grand Am Windshield washer pump access?24 Feb 2008 17:50 GMT2
Any ideas on how to access the windshield washer pump on a 1996 Grand Am.
I've got the battery and the plastic piece above the fluid reservoir removed
and still no access. Do I need to remove the fender? Or the front headlight
assembly and bumper?
Re: A War on Horsepower?24 Feb 2008 03:55 GMT28
Horsepower requirements should be sufficient for safety.
A rational answer to the question of what is sufficient is:
75 mph on steepest allowable superhighway grade at 7500 foot above sea
level elevation at "standard temperature and pressure" with the vehicle
700R4 w/ a little water inside20 Feb 2008 14:50 GMT2
I have a 700R4 that was in a freshwater flood about 6 years ago.  The water
level got almost to the exhaust ports, but not into the ECM.  I figured it
was all trashed and a waste of effort, so I let the car sit after removing
the interior and carpet and drying it out before ...
124" wheelbase frame19 Feb 2008 16:57 GMT2
I have a 1940 Coupe.  I am looking for a frame to fit it that has
power steering and brakes.  The wheelbase measures 124".  Do you know
what other chevy vehicles have a 124" wheelbase or how I could find
out what frame would work for this?
Radio automatic turnoff: nothing can go wrong go wrong go wrong19 Feb 2008 04:58 GMT10
I think I found a bug^undocumented feature of wildcard utility...
Current-ish model 4-door Impala (2007, I think, though conceivably an
'08) in our motor pool.  When you turn the ignition switch off and
close the door, the radio goes off.  So far so good.
NIGLUBE19 Feb 2008 03:37 GMT3
The service manual for my 2002 Aurora tells me to use NIGLUBE on the brake
caliper slide pins.  My Googling has not turned up a US source for this
stuff that is made by Nippon Grease Co, and I can't decipher the Japanese
hieroglyphics on their Web site.  GM has a part number for ...
Chevrolet vs Junior Johnson18 Feb 2008 14:20 GMT4
If any of you heard Junior's condemnation of Chevrolet's honesty re NASCAR
racing
just a few moments ago (Sunday morning, about 8:15 Central time), maybe
someone can explain what Chevrolet had to gain by the accused dishonesty.
Buick 2000 Century Keyless Entry Remote16 Feb 2008 06:46 GMT7
I'm chasing an inoperative remote problem. I found on Google that the easiest
way to check the receiver is to put it in the learn mode. Supposedly this is
accomplished by bridging pins 4 and 8 on the 16 pin test bay connector below
the steering column.

GM 3800 Series II PCV Valve Replacement Guide - Pontiac Grand Prix     GTP15 Feb 2008 10:40 GMT1
I'm sure most of you could swap out a PCV valve in just a few minutes
but I wrote up a quick guide with pictures to help out any new owners.
The guide was written specifically for the GM 3800 Series II S/C 3.8L
V6 engine.

Rain sense wipers ? ?14 Feb 2008 21:40 GMT4
Am wondering where/how the wiper rain sensors on my '08 Lucerne
are located and how they 'sense'. At a stop, they don't really
seem to work all that well. Window is pretty well completely
covered and they don't come on. While moving, they do a better
OnStar navigation.14 Feb 2008 21:32 GMT2
Have found for the most part the OnStar navigation system will get you
where you want to go, but not necessarily by the shortest route. Can
the instructions be tailored to more than one route....ie shortest vs
fastest, or some such thing ?
