help for replacing thermostat30 Aug 2008 12:19 GMT2
I've got a 2002 SC 2 Saturn coupe that needs a new thermostat.  The expected
cost in the shop is $300+, and I plan to get rid of the car in a couple of
months so I don't want to pay that much for repairs.  I'm willing to buy the
parts if somebody will give me some advice on how to ...
'97 Park Avenue windshield wipers30 Aug 2008 02:22 GMT1
The windshield wipers on my '97 Park Avenue now park in a vertical
position.  When set to intermittent they park normally, just above the
normal full down park position.  Have replaced the wiper module/motor
cover, but the condition persists.  What should I try next?
Weird brake noise29 Aug 2008 14:10 GMT1
It's my 2001 Impala, 70K. When braking, I can hear kinda "bell ring" noise,
like a jack hammer is working somewhere far away. The harder the brake is
applied, the louder the noise. When car windows all closed, I can hardly
hear it.
On 2002 Buick, Can OBD-2 read mileage ?29 Aug 2008 00:35 GMT3
I'm having trouble with the odometer display on my
2002 Buick Regal. It turns off and on at times. I need
to have the car inspected, can the mechanic
get the mileage from OBD-2 or must he read it
Park Ave. fuel gage29 Aug 2008 00:29 GMT4
The fuel gage indicator on my '97 Park avenue has somehow gone below
the stop pin.  How can I get it back above the stop pin.  I've heard
that the indicator must be rotated counterclockwise to the correct
position, but I can find no other information nor technique.
Secrets of Oil28 Aug 2008 16:45 GMT3
The gas thread just reminded me that Secrets of Oil is on Modern Marvels
tonight.  It repeats at 1:00AM if you want to record it. (that is three
hours from now)
They say we can save 90 million barrels of oil a day by re-refining used

1995 Buick GM A/C system27 Aug 2008 23:45 GMT1
The A/C is somewhat working. I had the blower control module go out and
replaced it with a new one that wasn't 100% looking like the old one, and a
few days later the A/C would only blow cold out the passenger side, now that
is iffy at best. The compressor is running and there is ...
HI MILEAGE OIL  ??26 Aug 2008 04:25 GMT6
I see the major oil brands are now marketing
"Hi-Mileage" oil for cars with more than 100K (?) miles.
Is this a marketing gimmick ? ( it does cost more )
or could there be a benefit to using a special

Pricing Question Re Handling The Destination Charge ?22 Aug 2008 22:06 GMT4
Real amateur when it comes to negotiating for a new car.
I see in the various Forums and newsgroups that an "appropriate" first offer
on a new car would be perhaps 500 max. over the Dealers Invoice.  Seems to
be a magic number.
77 Chevy 350 C10 Pick Up Fuel Lines22 Aug 2008 20:32 GMT2
I have a chevy 350 pick up without a fuel system in it. I put the new
fuel pump on it, and it has a 5/16 line and a 3/8s line that are both
supposed to hook up to the fuel tank. It has a 3rd line that goes to
the Carburator. My question is witch line is the supply and witch is

87 Cutlass Sedan21 Aug 2008 18:34 GMT2
Hi group,
Tomorrow, I am taking my grandmother out to the local GM dealer to
pick up her new (to her) Impala.  When we do this, she is going to be
leaving her 87 Cutlass with us for us to do with what we please.

Like I posted recently, looked at the new Buick LaCrosse, but seats were
awful.
Went to see the Chevy Impala today.
Nive car from appearances.
