Battery replacement consequences?29 Sep 2008 09:54 GMT6
My brother told me that one of his workmen went to an Interstate battery
store to get a new battery for his new model GM vehicle.  Don't know the
year or the make, but it's possibly a Buick.
The dude at the battery store told the potential customer that he could not
2002 Cad Deville Rear Wheel Noise29 Sep 2008 07:46 GMT6
I just purchased a used 2002 Deville. Ive had it a week and have noticed
that occasionally I hear a pretty loud wail/shrill/noise that seems to be
coming from the rear wheels. Nothing seems to make it happen and you cant
hear it from the inside but if you open the door you hear ...
2001 Prizm problems28 Sep 2008 23:52 GMT6
Yesterday I posted this on the Toyota group and got quite a few replies.
I thought it would be a good idea to post here too.
Today I took my car to the Chevy dealership for a check engine light.
They came up with a whole laundry list of problems which I think is

Serpentine belt.25 Sep 2008 00:02 GMT26
My dealer claims that my belt should be replaced because it has cracks.
There are no cracks on the outside but there are some cracks showing on
the ribs on the inside.  The belt has been on for 27,000 miles.  This is
a 2001 Prizm.  Is the dealer right or is he scamming me?

Gas prices anybody?24 Sep 2008 05:44 GMT2
Wow! gas prices are rediculously expensive.  Nowadays you have to
think twice before going out. Why? well not because you don't know
where you're heading, but because of the gas price.  You want to make
sure that you have enough for the REAL needs. But come on, we
Permanent gasket fix, late '90s Malibu?24 Sep 2008 04:56 GMT2
The sister of a co-worker wants to transfer an old Malibu to my co-
worker for (at the minimum) the price of repairing the engine's head
gasket.  Is this practical?  Will my co-worker have to worry about
replacing the gasket every few tens of thousands of miles?

it?
2) Cigarette lighter doesn't work. I guess the fuse is blown. How do I

Car won’t start18 Sep 2008 14:05 GMT7
I’ve a Chevy Cavalier 2000, which I use every now and then, and was
parked for about 2 weeks without being cranked. After two weeks when I
tried to crank it won’t start. The batteries look fine, I changed
spark plugs, but still no luck. When I turn the key it makes a
