Did Wagoner's Volt really drive the distance?10 Dec 2008 04:47 GMT8
Did Wagoner's Volt really drive Detroit-to-Washington DC or was this a
publicity stunt? Was it hauled in by semi for a short stint, or does it
really work as a long-range car? Somebody reveal the truth.

Knock sensor?   What does it do?09 Dec 2008 00:43 GMT11
I have a 91 GMC pickup with a 350 engine and auto tranny.  I had my
mechanic do a checkup of the underside of the truck and he said the
knock sensor is broken (the wire terminal corroded off).  I asked him
what it's for.  He said it senses a knock in the engine and does
Message for GM's Car Czar08 Dec 2008 23:12 GMT1
Federal Government Car Czar:  Check history. In 1940, North American
Aviation designed and flew its P-51 prototype in 178 days flat. GM must do
the same to develop a car that will blow away the Asians and Europeans to
dominate the world-wide market.
98 Buick Park Avenue, Block Heater Cord Location?08 Dec 2008 17:55 GMT1
Hey all,
I bought a 98 Buick Park Avenue (not the Ultra) this summer, GM lists
the block heater as standard on this year and model. I can't seem to
find the cord and would really like one now that winter has hit. Does

Re: Import owners are to blame for the recession08 Dec 2008 02:05 GMT2
buydomestic@usa.com ejaculated the following misstatement:
>GM has over 50,000
>engineers
Even if the number is accurate, which I doubt, GM has NO engineers. GM has

2004 buick lesabre07 Dec 2008 21:39 GMT8
Looking at buying a 2004 Lesabre with only 29,000 miles on it.  It has been
GM Certified.
Any one have one and can give me their opinions about it?  Thanks!
Interested how they are in the snow.  I've never had a car with traction
Display Of Instantaneous Fuel Consumption07 Dec 2008 13:22 GMT9
Are there some GM models that do this?
My new Chev Uplander Van will show average, until I reset it manually,
but it does not show what it is as it changes every second or two,
like my old 1990 Jaguar does, for example.
GM bailout -- a less costly alternative07 Dec 2008 04:30 GMT3
GM and the UAW do need help -- I don't think the
bailout is the way to go.
Grab a bar napkin and a pencil.
GM is asking for $12B, $15B, or some other
BAILOUTS for AUTO MAKERS:  Bad Move From Any Perspective!06 Dec 2008 22:47 GMT177
As we watch the return of TV ads for BIG TRUCKS/SUVs, we wonder:
1)   Where's the ad money coming from?
2)   With bailout cash in hand, when would the GMs and Fords restart
their GAS-GUZZLER FACTORIES?
Suppliers: Ship to GM C.O.D. only06 Dec 2008 08:59 GMT1
Suppliers, unless you want to take the serious risk of not ever being paid,
it is advisable to ship GM only on a C.O.D. basis.
Paradoxicly GM dealers continue to require their retail customers to pay in
advance for special order parts despite the fact that they are far more
Substitute for Fuel Pump06 Dec 2008 03:30 GMT46
Does anyone know of a substitute for those damn "in the tank" fuel
pumps?  What I mean, is there some sort of plug in (the cig lighter)
pump that can be put into a gas can, and a fuel hose run to the engine
for emergencies?
Radio Problem:  New 2009 Buick05 Dec 2008 19:27 GMT2
New 2009 Buick LaCrosse.
The radio keeps leaving the Preset Number that I push.
Plays just fine for about 15 minutes, then jumps.  Always happens wherever I
am.
OT; My two cents worth04 Dec 2008 17:46 GMT2
In the 70s and 80s my wife and I purchased 6 new GM cars and was less tha
satisfied with every one. Early 90s she bought her first Honda and mysel
a Toyota. We were able to drive all of these cars longer than the GMs.
have a 9 yo Toyota and the wife a 6 yo Honda, wonderful cars. ...
