| Transmission gone: 98 Accord V6 (only 103K miles!!!): | 23 Aug 2004 19:40 GMT | 12 |
My transmission has been acting up lately. but last night after a 10 hour drive (Buffalo to Boston) I think it's finally gone. When in D3 or D4 it is hunting for gears and over-reving the engine as it violently kicks in (literally spinning my front tires as I though I am

So I have this Honda, US car, 352K miles, 1300cc engine, and for the last few years the thing has been eating a distributor cap and rotor once a year or so. The symptoms are very odd. The inside of the cap is always kind of oily damp with a really sharp acid smell, the

| I finally did it! | 23 Aug 2004 18:27 GMT | 10 |
500 miles on a single tank with my 91 Accord. Then I filled my car and I did 490 miles the same day! I was going to hit 500 again but when I hit a traffic jam I decided to exit and get some gas. My previous record was 454 miles.

2004 Honda Accord EX At low RPMs there is a knocking noise when I press the accelerator. The car was bought less than a year ago, but the dealer is asking $112 just to check it out. Should I check with another dealer? Should the

| 01 Accord, Sticky Throttle | 23 Aug 2004 01:52 GMT | 5 |
I know it sounds more like an outboard motor question, but it's not. The gas pedal is sticky from the get go, so if I start from a dead stop there's no smooth way to do it - the car "jumps". Does anyone know what I should lube or WD40? It's a V6 and I'd appreciate some suggestions ...

| Honda Coolant?? | 22 Aug 2004 21:21 GMT | 21 |
I went down to the dealership today like a good boy and asked for Honda Coolant. They asked if I was 'Type 1' or 'Type 2'. I had no idea, so I told them I have a 98 Civic LX. They said 'OK you are Type 2' and gave me NAPA

I purchased a used 1997 Honda CRV. Lately, I have been hearing sound from underneath my car. I checked underneath for any damages; but no damages were found. I only hear the "woooh" sound when I make a sharp "U" turn eitherleft or right turn. However, if I make only a half round "U" ...

| Good XM Radio Discount in mail today - after I canceled | 22 Aug 2004 13:13 GMT | 31 |
Since I haven't been driving my '04 Accord much, I let the XM lapse after the free 3 months. XM has sent me 5 or 6 letters, trying to get me to sign up again at the standard $10 a month. No deal. Now, 2 1/2 months after I discontinued the service, they've finally

| Question about struts | 22 Aug 2004 11:11 GMT | 1 |
I was told by one of intelligent members of this newsgroup that I need new struts. The problem is obviously on the front end since the rear tires show almost no signs of wear. There is excessive wear on the front right tire (passenger side) and normal wear on the front let side tire ...
