Are Distributors History?06 Sep 2004 22:01 GMT9
I had a friend of mine, who is a high-performance car mechanic, tell me that
new cars no longer use distributors, caps, rotor buttons, etc.  He said that
all new cars use a coil-per-cylinder configuration coupled with a series of
engine speed/timing, air/fuel ratio, and throttle ...
Can you wax a 'new' Civic?06 Sep 2004 18:18 GMT7
Bought 04 Civic EX in March.  First new car in 15 years. Silver.  Friend told
me not to wax it for three or four months. I remember in the 'old days' this
was 'common knowledge' (or an urban myth!) but is it true with today's paints
and finishes? Car still looks good, but water does ...
Accord coupe06 Sep 2004 17:41 GMT6
Hello i am from the UK and have recently bought a used Accord coupe which as
we all are aware is US built and i gather a very common car over there.
I have owned several Accords previously and was wondering if any US owners
had experienced the vehicle "using" oil.

2001 prelude Locking mecanisms keeps locking06 Sep 2004 16:30 GMT4
lately whenever i'm driving and I lock my doors via the lock button -
driver or passenger side- my locking mecanism keeps trying to lock
itself. You hear it litterally trying to lock itself over and over
again. The annoying thing is that its intermittent. It'll go for a
My '82 Prelude, restore or replace?06 Sep 2004 11:29 GMT4
Hi, Folks,
I'm the only owner of a 1982 silver Prelude (automatic [sorry], with
AC and the four-spoke mag wheels, dead "moon roof"). The car has only
118,000 miles on it, spent all its life spent in Virginia, and I have
handbrakes tight after brake job at dealer06 Sep 2004 05:00 GMT6
Just got back from the honda dealer to have
front brake pads replaced. No other work was
done and rear brakes were adjusted.
Now, that I'm back, when I try to lift up
How to set idle on a 97 Civic DX06 Sep 2004 04:30 GMT1
Is it possible to set the idle speed on a 97 Civic DX w/manual trans, or
is this something that has to be done by computer at a dealer? The car
runs fine and never stalls and it idles smoothly, but it only idles at
about 300-400 rpm. If this is something that can be done at home, ...
Honda Warranties06 Sep 2004 03:37 GMT5
Have purchased an 05 Accord, any thoughts as to the wisdom of purchasing one
of the factory warranties.
Thanks
2002 Honda Odyssey Transmission Blew UP06 Sep 2004 03:31 GMT2
I have a 2002 Odyssey. The trans blew up at 19000 miles. It ran 500
miles then blew up again. It ran 10,000 miles more and blew up again.
Now at 34,000 it has another dead transmission.
I have contacted an attorney regarding this issue, there is recourse
Maintenance required light06 Sep 2004 03:25 GMT6
Interesting....My maintenance required light went on today, and I received
an email from Honda regarding the 6 month service. The light is total
bullshit just to get you into the service area and pay 175 dollars for an
oil change and tire rotation....
1998 honda civic motor rotation06 Sep 2004 03:22 GMT9
has anyone run across a situation where the motor of a 1998 civic rotates on
acceleration to the point where the exhaust compression joint, just below
the down pipe, separates and makes a 'clunk' noise?  if so, or if you can
imagine this, please tell me which motor mounts need ...
1991 Acura Integra with poor engine compression test results06 Sep 2004 02:07 GMT1
My Camry was stolen last Thanksgiving, and the junker I bought to
replace it finally died, so I'm in the market again for a new-to-me
vehicle.  This time, I have a little more to spend, and I want to find
a set of wheels that will be reliable and last me for years to come.

1995-1997 vintage, 2.2L. Possibly the 4WD version, which I think is
based on the CRV running gear.
