This has only recently started to happen.. my car is a 1990 Accord
EX, Auto, with 178k on the clock. The only work I've performed on the
intake was to clean the EGR ports(about 5months ago), and routine
throttle-body cleaning.

I'm ready to buy, with no trade-in, a new Honda Element 4wd EX
automatic.  I can do it all cash; don't need to finance this time.
I've read of the "services" that offer to get you a car for a fee over
invoice, but am wary.

After I neutral-stalled my car (accidentally) my D4 light came on and stays
on and there is no 1st or 4th gear.  Changed trans fluid - no change.
Replaced whole transmission, D4 still on & still no 1st or 4th.  Honda
reprogrammed computer (for free), D4 went off for less than an ...

My buddy picked up an 88 Integra, 5 door. Nice car. Some Questions:
- What digit in the VIN verifies the Model Year? (It was built in January.)
- If this thing _is_ an 88 then the motor in it is a 1.6 D16A1, right?
