Dangling muffler; what to do?09 Feb 2005 02:03 GMT20
So I had my muffler on my 97 Honda Civic replaced almost two years ago
by a Midas or someplace, and it looks like I'm paying the price. Tonight
on my way home from work the thing totally fell off the bottom of my car
and I had to drive with it dragging for a little bit. It's now ...
CRV ? 1/2 on topic 1/2 off topic09 Feb 2005 01:40 GMT1
We bought a 2000 CRV for our daughter and we all love the car. She
doesn't turn 16 until the end of the month and I have been driving the
car more than my truck. We had a significant ice storm and a couple of
snow storms and the CRV has performed fantastically in ALL of the bad
transmission shifting09 Feb 2005 01:36 GMT6
i have a 97 Accord Coupe SE w/ an automatic transmission. it has 118,000
miles on it. the problem is that it shifts hard. like, i can feel it
shifting EVERYTIME it shifts. i've changed the transmission fluid at the
Honda dealer several times now and so i know it's not the fluid. any
1997 Honda Civic DX Starting Problems09 Feb 2005 00:42 GMT9
My 1997 Honda Civic DX started for two or three seconds then died. The
engine turns over fine but will not start or even fire. When I disconnect
the fuel line at the manifold to check for pressure and flow, the engine
starts.  It runs until the fuel in the injection manifold is gone ...
'88 accord throttle position sensor insanity!!!08 Feb 2005 20:02 GMT7
My Accord Lxi '88 has a problem. It began as a combo initial big engine
start-up rev-v-v-v, then drop down to a regular idle/ rev cycle.
Although annoying, in gear the car operated fine, but at stops reverted
to the idle/rev cycle. Was getting less ruly and prone to rev-v-v-v.

Excessive Play in Shifter08 Feb 2005 17:06 GMT8
I have a '91 Civic with the 4-speed that seems to have excessive
side-to-side play in it.  This can't be a sign of anything good, but what IS
the problem?
Thanks!
[90 Accord] Master or Wheel cylinders going?08 Feb 2005 05:24 GMT10
1990 Accord EX, 189k, well maintained. Recently the brake pedal
will fade (close) to the floor: about 1/3-1/2" of play left once it's
down there. PA winter, was about 45F today when it happened(so not
abnormally hot). Only happens on slow braking. If, after I have
91 Honda Civic DX hatchback08 Feb 2005 04:30 GMT5
122,000 miles and runs very well, the engine is strong.  However, I failed
my emissions so I've done the cheap stuff:  new plugs, wires, air filter,
pcv valve, and fuel filter.
Maybe that will help but my main problem is this:  I'm burning a
clunk - left rear08 Feb 2005 02:25 GMT4
Have a small prob on my 2000 accord and hoping someone recognizes the
prob. I hear a clunking sound in the left rear of the car if I move
forward after having reversed, and at time I hear it if I crest
something (ie. speed bump or up a steep parking garage driveway) but is
99 Accord Check Engine Light08 Feb 2005 02:14 GMT4
My 99 Accord LX 4Dr V4 sedan has 57300 miles on it, I did not change
the oil and oil filter for about 8000 miles, however everything was
still ok till the day i left my car overnight with the lights on.
The next day it wouldnt start, realizing that the battery has drained,
new owner: 97 Accord with a couple of questions08 Feb 2005 01:44 GMT4
just got my first Honda - have always driven Toys.  it's a 97 Accord SE and
seems superb.  couple of questions:
1.  do the numbers/letters on the gear shift light up or do we just rely on
the indicators on the instrument panel?
CRV Vs. Tucson?08 Feb 2005 01:25 GMT10
I am considering both the 2005 CRV lx 4WD and the 2005 Hyundai Tucson 4WD
V6. For 900.00 dollars less than the CRV the Hyundai has a V6, heater
wipers, mirrors, fog lights and a roof rack. Does anyone have experience
with Hyundai in terms of reliability, quality or owner ...
Civic Battery Dead07 Feb 2005 19:51 GMT20
A dead '95 Civic battery gave unusual results. Jumpering the battery allowed
it to idle the engine, but the moment I attempted to move it forward or in
reverse, the engine would stop. Its as though the battery was too weak to
muster enough energy to propel the car, but it could idle ...
LATimes on the Ridgeline07 Feb 2005 19:47 GMT2
"The nip-tuck truck", Feb. 2, 2005, LATimes
"But the Ridgeline is so scary good, so smart and so instantly likable that
it's going to send everybody back to pickup school."
"If you have driven a Honda Accord, you know what the Ridgeline ride is
